Ron bought me a new cane.

Filed under: My Life and Rants — Scottie @ 19:31

Ron bought me a new cane.  I love new canes with different tops or heads.  See once I thought I was done with canes forever.. silly.   Then sadly two years later I started to fall and we found out my legs and pelvis were entirely spiderwebbed with fractures and cracks. My doctors all agreed , I would never have a time where I did not need support.  It was just a matter of what kind of support.   I then found I was fascinated by the different types of canes and the different looks.   I have a good friend I admire a lot who made a cane for me from wood he had stored for years.  He carved it and he had it sized perfectly for me.  It was sadly too heavy and the part where he put the handle was just a bit to off for me to get enough support.   But it is an incredible work of art and it is beautifully grand.  I love it.  Plus if I ever need a weapon it is ideal, no one could survive a hit from it.  Ron named it shillelagh.   So now I am going to try to get to all the wonderful blogs I have missed the last few days.     Best wishes and many hugs for all.

  1. I could be pedantic and say what a shillelagh is, but I bet you know! I like it, it is like a sugar skull design!

    • 🙂 the leprechaun in me grins and dances without answering your question. 😉 Yes I like the new cane also. The length is too long for me and Ron has to cut it down. Also it is a metal cane and I have mostly wooden ones. I have one dragon cane that use to have a knife in it, but I had to take it out as it was illegal to have a hidden weapon in many place I went. I hope you have been getting better and you are well now. I have not been out to many blogs lately but will be back to everyone soon. Be out of work is not as fun as people think it is, at least I did not find it fun. Best wishes. Hugs
