Fight Bigotry With Dialogue

This post is well thought out and well written. I wish our elected officials and other government members on the news shows yesterday and all morning today were as clear and open. This is terrorism and our country doesn’t give in to it, and we don’t tolerate it, and we should never hide from dealing with it. The only thing I would add to this post is that when confronted by bigots and supremacists if we are silent, that silence is counted by them as support for their position. So whenever possible let them know you do not agree with them and don’t support their views. Be well, be safe. Hugs

Charlottesville Racist Protest Photo Credit Reuters

Charlottesville VA has been a gathering ground for racist bigots in the last two days. These scumbags came out from the depths of their ignorant holes to participate in the “Unite the Right” march (organized by a horrible man, Jason Kessler, to protest the removal of a statue of Robert E. Lee).

The First Amendment is a tough pill to swallow sometimes. Especially, when defending the free speech of bigots like Nazis, white nationalists, and KKK members. Nevertheless, they deserve the right to speak their minds (as long as they do not incite violence). And we have the right and duty to explain to them that they are ignorant racists fueled by hatred.

Those who marched proudly with Nazi flags and KKK garbs yesterday are not protesters, they are domestic terrorists. They use the threat of violence, and sometimes real violence, against their fellow citizens.

    • Well said Miles. But you can not educate these people if you can’t talk with them. Be well. Hugs

  2. Why they have not been denounced for domestic terrorism before now just blows my mind.

    • Because the government is run by people who agree with them. In fact the one group that was charged with finding and dealing white supremacy / bigotry has had both its name and funding slashed. Now it is to deal with Muslim terrorism only. Hugs

      • Despite the fact that there have been more attacks in the US perpetrated by White Christian Men than Muslims in the last 20 years. Who’s really the problem? We have got to get rid of the Old White Men of our government. ALL OF THEM! Over 60-you’re out!

        • Yes, thank you for seeing something I felt only I was upset about. Why is our standards being legalized by people who were in their heyday in the 1950’s or older. The people of the U.S. have moved on and have different ideas on how things should be from those now in their mid 70’s to late 80’s. These old guys remember a time that is no more. The want to force uis to live in that long ago time. Well Lassie Timmy is not still in the well. Now he has a boyfriend he married, and is smoking weed while holding a good job and raising a family. Thanks again. Hugs

            • Interesting. This is a lot like the Justice Warriors the TYT network is trying to do. They are running candidates that refuse corporate money also. Would be nice if we could get these groups together so we wouldn’t be doing double work for the same thing. This has become a tipping point I think. People want representatives who will actually represent them, not big companies and wealthy donors. Hugs
