Colorado Student Sues Her Old School District for Anti-Atheist Discrimination – Friendly Atheist

Filed under: News, Questions, Religion — Scottie @ 09:28

Again hurt the child to protect the religion.   This is gone past anythign we can tolerate.  If it was anything other than religion the people pushing it would be arrested, tried , and jailed very quickly.   Heck if it was another religion than that ole blessed Jesus guy.   Hugs

The allegations in this lawsuit are absolutely infuriating.

  1. this is outrageous! I hope she wins her lawsuit and that school, the teachers, counselors, principal are all listed in the suit individually!

    • The only way to stop them is to hit their pocket books. And even then they will claim to be the true victims. It is typical for people like this to hurt others and then claim they were the real ones hurt. Hugs

More like “anything other than Christianity” that is. Because it’s those They believe that “other” cults, religions and sects that are just weird.

For example, this is just one of the trucks I’ve seen like this near my home. I just took this today.

      • It’s okay, Scottie. We learn to adapt. We have also learned to stay true to ourselves. Right now we are preparing for a relaxing family trip. We’re currently enrolling our kids in home school and are actively searching for a non religious couples therapist. That’s what you do. You know that better than anyone. You can’t work on others. However, you can work on yourself and on the relationships with the people whom you love. When we see things outside of ourselves that consistently bring us down, we get rid of them. We dig deep down and use our brain and creativity to achieve our goals for happiness. I am an atheist in a house of other nonbelievers. When we find ourselves judged we rise above it and make our lives better through other means. We also have the certainty that we are not alone, we have each other. Some people don’t have such a luxury.

  3. For me this type of nonsense is mind-blowing. I left school long ago but even then , religion was simply not any real part of my life, nor for the lives of anyone I grew up with. A situation such as this young woman faced just would not have happened.
Seriously, one has to wonder at just how Neanderthal some Americans really are.

    • It is getting really bad. We just had one state vote in a to the senate a hard fundamentalist religious bigot. Roy More was twice removed as a chief justice for refusing to follow secular laws and instead demanding the right to follow his religious laws and force others to do so. He think the USA was funded on the bible , which is clearly wrong. He would institute christian sharia laws in a heart beat. Even after our supreme court ruled against his wishes he still refused to accept secular law on the issue of same sex marriage. He doesn’t not believe in civil rights, equality of anyone to white christian straight people. And he won his run off in a big margin and they say he will win the general election in a huge margin. So that tells you all you need to know about the entire population of Alabama, a southern state in the USA that still thinks the confederates won the civil war. Many hugs

      • Yes, I read a bit about him.
Your country seems to be getting nuttier by the day.
Bit like ours, in fact, but you just add the religion.
