The time is now, and the talk is over due

  1. Oh but it is political. The U.S. constitution precludes common sense in favour of rabid kindling for special interest fires. Figure out how to eliminate NRA influence on politics and America might stand a chance. Sigh.

    • Notes,
Excuse my sarcasm, but when did you last encounter common sense in the US of A? I am being very serious as it has been what seems like ages since I last came any where close to such an encounter in ‘Merikkka.

      • America shrugged “meh” when it squandered Barack Obama. Long after the collapse of America, history will chronicle Obama’s 2008 speech on race, his response to Sandy Hook, 2016 Rutgers University commencement speech – I could name a dozen times Obama’s words filled my heart with hope common sense might crack America’s rigid veneer. Sadly, fear, denial, indoctrination, faith based exclusion and the right wing propaganda machine steam rolled Americans into making a mockery of Barack Obama. Honestly – this Canadian barely raises an eyebrow anymore. America is like a drug addict – bargaining, tough love and rehab fall as laughably inadequate. Common sense cowers in fear of being cut off from their dealer, a drug lord spewing rigid constitutional nonsense driven by self proclaimed corporations of morality. Argh! Forgive my rambling, 🙂

      • Strange as it sounds, the only thing that truly gives me even a shred of hope in all of this (note sweeping gesture that encompasses nearly everything Out There), is that we are still allowed to comment as openly and viciously and honestly as we do. Colbert shreds this stuff every night, Jimmy Kimmel is right beside him, the papers are openly critical of almost every move made in Washington, Saturday Night Live has been over the top with this since before the election, and so far no one has been shut down, shut up, or imprisoned. It’s a leaky little raft in a big sea, but we have to cling to something.

        • The thing is tRumpsky ship is leaking and it is taking on water faster and faster. Soon it will fail, and he will be held accountable. Either that or he will run. Either way we win. He needs to be gone and as soon as possible. our best bet is to have the dems win big in 2018 and begin to build back up what tRumpsky is tearing down and destroying. Hugs

  3. I agree, the tRump ship is sinking fast, but we have to keep in mind the pox he’s spreading on the way down.He empowered right wing lunk heads and that will linger long after tRump is ousted. It will take a democrat majority in Senate and Congress to pluck America from the brink of collapse – I’m not holding my breath.

    • Sadly it is the powers people , the poor, the working poor, the average man who will suffer as our country goes down into the void. Hugs
