Third day yuck

Filed under: Food, My Life and Rants, News — Scottie @ 19:19

Tonight is the third and last night of the diabetic education classes.  Sorry I have not been to everyone’s blogs the last few days, it is rush for this and rush for that.   I know what this class would boil down too and I was correct.   Tonight’s lesson is all about the foods you can have, ones they want to ban from your life, and all that rubbish.  Nothing I as a 54 year old man likes then have a over think lady telling me what I can eat and what I can not.  I take offense at being treated like a ten year old in trouble for eating a cookie.  I do not want to be scolded for weight, I know I am heavy at 202 pounds.   I do not want peopel who do not know me nor my history telling me what i can put in my mouth.   I got totally pissed off after the educator told me I had to eat less at every meal, so I asked her if she gave birth to me.  She was stunned so I asked her where she got the idea that she could regulate my food intake.  Got to run.  Hugs to all

  1. That’s the way to go. Of course I am careful what I eat and drink, but it is a way of life and my way. i got used to less sugar intake and most stuff is now too sweet for my taste buds. I discovered that it is not the carbohydrate alone, but how the body reacts to it. Eating an orange is less carbohydrate intake than drinking orange juice.

    • The lady teaching the class ticked off more than me. SHe came across with an attitude that really grated on most of us. She was not using the this should language. She was using a God says this attitude. She was on fire for the diabetic lord. A true convert to the diabetes way. I was so angry at the end of the night. She handed out a paper and we were to make our meal plan on and the corrective action we were going to take. She was insisting we all have to write our corrective action on. When she got to me and demanded to know what I was going to change I loudly said nothing. She did not get the hint, and started in on me about I clearly needed to change this or that, I exploded. I told her my doctor was happy I came from 12 to 7 a1c and he said to the same as I was and unless she had MD at the end of her name I was not changing anything. I tore into her about the way she was treating the whole class. Everyone burst out in cheers and a couple people clapped. She got her lips pursed so hard they disappeared. Be well, I have to go cook hubby and I breakfast. Eggs, ham, sausage, potatoes , and toast. Hugs
