“Good Guy with a Gun” Accidentally Shoots Himself and His Wife in Church

Filed under: Harm, News, Political, Questions — Scottie @ 12:05

A Tennessee man who was promoting open carry laws as a solution to mass shootings in churches accidentally shot himself and his wife on Thursday… while they were in church.

  1. They never learn, do they? SMH

But of course to the dyed-in-the-wool “Second Amendment” supporters, this is simply an “isolated incident.” Something like this would never happen to them. Just like it didn’t happen to this guy.

  2. But because they are so 2nd Amendment indoctrinated they will continue to support open carry despite their accident.

  4. That is ironic indeed and also embarrassing on the guys end . Still a firm believer that guns don’t kill people , people do. Yes accidents happen but banning weapons will only raise the statistics. Many people in the world love to have things they aren’t supposed to have. Just like kids you tell them they can’t do something they then want to do it even more .

    • Hello Sam. I disagree with you. In your view why have laws against anything, it would make people want to do it more. Along with legislation you also have enforcement. I just read something interesting. The idea that this country is a gun culture is wrong. Only 3% of the people own half the guns. There are swaths of the country where most people do not own one. The thing is not to ban reasonable weaponry. The weapons that we need to get rid of are the ones causing the most trouble. The truth is most people do not have guns and so can not act out of rage or anger with one. We just removed regulations keeping the mentally ill from gun ownership. Is that really a reasonable way to go? Be well. Hugs
