All the above plus a natural tendency to want to see pattern and explanations where there are none.
A car accident where two out of four children die…the motherrs of the deceased children ask why them? And they find an explanation that god took them as it was their time or he works in those famous mysterious ways, but god is good, so it must be ok. The mothers of the surviving children will say that god saved theirs and glory and praise be to god as he is so good. Neither will see it as who had seat belts on and where were they sitting in the car and where was the car hit. It’s this need for explanation.
Power and money. Fame, guilt, and control! That is where it all began.

Yup. Money and control. Power. I can not wait until we grow out the need for it all. Hugs

Oh but Mary! Your reasoning makes too much sense! Believers simply can’t handle anything that is outside of … “because God.”
