Think of this. Can’t legally buy a beer but bought an AR-15 legally.

  1. One has to wonder what he means by ‘school security’ . . .more guns? 😦

    • The kids themselves say it clearly, they are kids, we are the adults and we have not taken the amount of guns off the streets. To secure schools takes more than metal detectors and lining the halls with police. It is not a prison. IMO to secure a school takes making the outside environment more secure. Hugs

    • I’m with you, Carmen … more guns? Sadly … and to the kids’ detriment … many believe that’s the answer.

      • Hello Nan and Carmen. You may want to read this. http://www.joemygod.com/2018/02/16/north-carolina-gop-rep-proposes-arming-teachers-shootings-plots-communist-democrats/

I can’t believe this. The man is a legislator and a pastor, yet thinks this is a plot to take away his guns. He also claimed Lincoln was as bad as Hitler and so much more. I did read in the comments someone said they can’t even provide teachers with supplies for teaching, so where are they to get the money for guns, bullets, and training? Someone has to say enough with pandering to these type people. The earth is not flat, evolution is a fact, climate change is real, and both kids and adults are dying because there are far too many guns too easy to get. Hugs

  2. You know, Scottie, I feel that students don’t realize their own power. If they organized – and let’s face it, they’re all on social media – and had some powerful leaders, they could bring about change. The young fellow I saw on the news who spoke the words you referenced is a good example. I am in hopes that they’ll be galvanized to use their power. Their peers are the ones who are being sacrificed for this ‘right to bear arms’. It makes me weep.

    • I agree. we are sacrificing our future, our hopes, our most precious, for the right of older people to feel not so afraid by having a weapon to kill with.

Our leaders promote and push fear to achieve their agendas. The people react by trying to find a weapon to make them not so afraid. But kids have fears also and they are not told to “get a gun” out right. But that is what they hear, because that is what their adults do. So yes the kids maybe need to be the driving force, not so caught up in legal bribes of donations, and maybe not as use to falling back on something they are told will help them, but really just makes it all worse. 3. The Senators and Representatives need to be reminded that they did not take the oath of allegiance to the NRA. If they don’t give some indication they’ll support proper gun control then don’t vote for them. Any donations towards elections from the NRA (Via Arms Manufacturers) should be returned as proof they’re not owned by the NRA, anc care about the people they represent.

    • Agreed. The problem has become that the republican party has long had an ethic of right to rule. They really do feel they are better and superior and have a right to be in charge. It is wrong and provably so, but it is there. To this regard they have rigged the election system by different means to insure they stay in power. They restrict voting to groups they know don’t normally vote for them, they rig the voting areas so they win no matter how many votes the other party gets. In one state the democrats won over 3/4 of all the votes but only got 1/3 the seats due to gerrymandering. It took tRump’s election to awaken the people. Now they are beginning to voice their anger, run for office, vote, donate, and be involved. But it is now a hard hill to climb as people simply did not care enough before. I have hope but I know it will take a lot of work from a lot of people. Hugs
