  1. Prayers and condolences … haven’t worked so far, have they?

    • No Nan. How does the quote go? Doing the same thing repeatedly and expecting a different answer? I am having a hard time to day keeping an even temper over this. I burst into tears when I heard that one boy basicly demand adults keep them safe. We should be able to damn it. Hugs

  2. When? When will we have had enough of the NRA buying and paying for our lawmakers? How many dead kids is the requirement? Every day I drop my youngest son off at school and wonder, can it, will it happen here?

I had a talk with him yesterday. Situational awareness. Keep your eyes peeled, be looking for trouble. See someone pulling something out of a backpack? Make sure you see what it is. Know some idiot who flashed a gun they brought to school? Report the S.O.B. Look around in your classrooms, a makeshift weapon can be had from many mundane items. Note what and where there is something you can use, because sometimes hiding behind the desk isn’t such a great idea, especially if there someone is in the room executing people. At some point you have to be proactive. If it comes down to it, you gotta get all Bruce Willis. If there is a shooter and kids are running, do not run in a straight line away from the shooter, move tangently from their location, running away in a straight line from the shooter is an easy shot. And finally, don’t be a freakin hero, but do what you have to do to survive.

In what fucking sane world does a father have a talk like that with their son?

I was driving this morning, and being a classic rock die hard (not necessarily a Bruce Willis pun, but I’ll take it) I was listening to a classic rock station. They played “Were Not Gonna Take It” by Quiet Riot, and I thought wow, that is a song to back a movement. We need a movement.

    • I think you gave great advice I hope all children can hear, but I do wish they did not have to. I have no words about this that have not been said. But I think those words are starting to be heard in the halls of power. It is because there is a movement starting. I noticed the young people are involved and angry. They are motivated. They know social media. They will not take shut up and sit down for an answer. Also I think on this can not even be bribed. I hope they do join with the parents and adults who have been trying to do something and create a tidal wave that crushes the NRA bribery to congress machine.

    • Extremely well put, SD. What’s so sad is that a parent has to say these things at all!
