As you watch the NRA’s 2018 annual meeting, here are the very best facts to cut through the gun lobby’s B.S. Please share this widely with your friends and family.

Background Checks Chicago College Campuses Criminals Don’t Follow Laws
Existing Laws Fear Freedom Good Guy with a Gun
Gun Owners Gun Ownership Gun Free Zones Guns are Deadly
Hate, Guns, and the NRA The Media Mental Health More Guns, More Crime
The NRA’s Power The NRA’s Racism Their Russian Ties The Second Amendment
Self-Defense Video Games Women

Youth and Guns

  1. As a lifetime gun owner and fancier, but steeped in the responsibility that goes with such ownership, I admit with reluctance that the vast majority of people cannot be trusted with that responsibility, and that even greatly more stringent qualification criteria will not be enough.

    • We have to start somewhere. Facts show that background checks work, that assault weapons bans work, no gun zones work. Some things work to cut down the violence, and that is what we have to do. Hugs

      • All those things should be applied far more stringently, for starters. Particularly the suitability checks. It should become as hard as getting a university degree to own a gun.

        • Agreed. I think this is part education campaign and part slowly weeding out the worst guns that simply have no civilian need. Plus the armor piercing ammo has to go. I am not worried about the farmer or rancher or person out in the countryside with a shotgun or a rifle or two. I am talking the guy who hoards 37 guns and ammo thinking he is going to be part of a hero militia taking down a corrupt government that has gone bad and coming for him. I worry about the guy wearing his gun to walmart to prove how manly he is. There has been too many recorded incidence by this type thing, and I don’t want to be in stores or restaurants where this is going on. Hugs

          • True. There is absolutely no justification for any person other than one placing (disabled) ones on display, for anyone to have even one weapon of mass destruction. Even the farmers misuse their weapons to destroy ‘vermin’ that are actually helping the ecology. One would like to get to an era like the one with British police where a truncheon was their weaponry — and was adequate.
