My take on civility and why we must engage and confront tRump supporters with real facts. Do not let them smugly wallow in ignorance.

  1. Great job. You covered a lot of ground here.

When they demand civility, what I hear is “Pretend that what we’re doing is normal and not an atrocity. And help us pretend that so we can live with ourselves.”

Republican leaders have never demanded civility from their own bigoted followers, at least not loudly enough for anyone to notice.

And I have a feeling that this family separation and caging of children is a pretty major news story all over Latin America, or soon will be. People there will be watching to see what we, the American people, are going to do about it. Coddling the tender feelings of the thugs and their enablers is not what the world expects of us, and it will judge us harshly if we let that mute our protests.

    • Well said. I agree. The world is already aghast at what is happening in our country with our leaders and the vocal minority. If we don’t get a handle on this we will be isolated and shunned on the world stage. Just as Putin would like. Hugs
