Compare and Contrast

** I was unable to independently verify some of the information in this post.   What can be verified is here and it is a good break down of the differences in the numbers between democrat presidents and Republican ones.  http://presidentialdata.org/  Hugs  **

Facts are pesky critters. It seems that every republican president tends to run up the debt while giving huge tax cuts to business and the wealthy. This is done so that the country has less money to spend on social causes when a democrat is elected president. History shows that democrats work to lower the debt and that means less spending on things the republicans champion. The news media joins with republicans in pushing the wildly wrong slogan that democrats are “tax and spend”. The truth is the republicans are the party of borrow and spend. Republicans are like a kid with their first credit card who runs it up buying things for their friends with out any thought of how to pay off the debt they are building. Hugs

Just sayin’.

  1. That is very interesting. Are you sure of your sources? (Not that I question the results, but… sources are sources) 😉

    • I got the picture from https://mockpaperscissors.com/2018/08/03/compare-and-contrast-27/ and the source is listed as (hat tip: anonymous source)

The best I could do to track it down was this, http://presidentialdata.org/ but it is hard to match the data up. The site has some stuff I could match and others I couldn’t. Hugs

      • Yeah, I went to the site too. I have been in research most of my life, so I’m always wary of (non)sources. I will have a look at presidentialdata.
        Cheers

        • I tried to match the info from the page and while some of it looks like it lined up , others did not. IF you find it false, let me know and I will pull the post. I hate to give bad information. Thanks. Hugs

          • I have no way to find it false. Or I might have to spend hours looking for primary sources to double-check and I don’t have the time. I do like “presidentialdata” though. Looks, (underlined Looks) to be based on better research. At least they give you access to back data.

      • I have just looked at the data. Looks good. One negative factor, it seems to be compiled by Democrats. But… the data looks legit. Another factor that had me concerned was the number of rep vs dem presidents. BUt it’s exactly 6 and six. How amazing. So, personally? I feel pretty confident with the data at that other site. (You might want to reblog that one)

        • Good idea. I also put a note on the first post to go to the site with the info. Thanks for looking it over for me. Hugs

          • You’re welcome. The info was so surprising, – at first sight – that it made me curious. The cliché is that Republicans should be good for business, but it looks like they’re not. So what are they good for? Grrrr.

            • Yes, Ron who use to do international finance for the School of International Living told me that a long time ago. He said democrats were better for increasing the economy and lowering the debt. When the second Bush was elected Ron told his republican sister to take out of a investment account she had. She did not listen to him and lost over 100,000 before she tried to move her money. Hugs

              • Very interesting. When I go back home I will sit down a while to download and study the data from presidentialdata. Cheers

    • I couldn’t find anything on the site I got it from to prove the source of the numbers. Others complained on the site that they wanted the source and the site author says the person did not want to be named. So it could be in error. Hugs
