Scaring kids with hell can be deadly

Filed under: Children, Criminal, Harm, Health, News, Questions, Reason — Scottie @ 11:27

There’s a strong argument to be made that threatening children with the fictional idea of Hellfire is a form of emotional abuse, as many former believers will attest to, but it gets even worse when people who don’t realize that Hell is imaginary take actions to prevent other people from going there.

It’s the threat of Hell that allegedly prompted 14-year-old Nickalas Kedrowitz of Ripley County, Indiana to kill his two younger siblings, 23-month-old Desiree McCartney and 11-month-old Nathaniel Ritz.

    • Really sad, but Ark has been telling everyone that scaring kids with hell is child abuse and he is correct. Hugs

      • I agree, he’s absolutely right. What a terrible thing to say to innocent, trusting children.

        • And people refuse to call it brainwashing! To take action like this can be nothing less.

  2. half of the American nations popualtion must consist of real idiots and blockheads, awakened by this prolo Trump. It is the same over here in Germany – but without the bible-Background and it is only 14% of our population. Maybe our schoolsystem is lesss influenced by the religions. When I was young 70 years ago, we kids h a d to visit “Sunday school” in Church. – and were told the same nonsense about creationism without calling it that name. But we didn’t care a monkeys for that silly nonsense, and most parents didn’t make kids believe this stupid lies, so we were really lucky, but a real lot of American kids are not so lucky, your priests and Bishops indoctrinate their “believers” with that creationist shit — for their own good: Money , money, money.

    • The poor American kids get bombarded with these mythical stories from the holy book from family and friends. They are only allowed friends from the same church and most are taught at home. Basically every where they turn until they are an adult, they are face to face with the religious indoctrination. Hugs

  3. Show this to a Nob like Wally or that screwed in the head Pastor and they’ll tell you you’re simply being a bigot and picking on the bad side of Christianity and this is not what following Jesus is about.
They are all off their fucking disingenuous heads.
It’s wise to remember exactly where these arsehole stand on this subject.

    • I remember your post on this. It was after reading it and reading what was written in the comments I realized I agree that indoctrinating little kids with a belief in hell and damnation was child abuse. You were correct. I have read of adults killing their kids to save them, but now they have scared children enough to kill their younger siblings to “protect them”. I think the people who put this idea in that kids head are as responsible as he is. As for Mel and Wally, well I already think so low of each of them I doubt my opinion can get much lower. You turned Mel inside out and made him afraid to even let you post. Wally is so stupid he contradicted himself in a comment to me. But sadly these people, including Bruce, ColorStorm, and that kind do have grand kids and access to children, they put these ideas in their heads and promise them they are true. What nightmares the kids must have. Thanks Ark, Hugs

      • To understand the type of nightmares ask someone like Charity. I’ll bet even someone like Ben had more than a few misgivings in his day.

        • Yes, and both of them have shielded their children from this abuse. Hugs
