Christian conservatives win; children lose. More reasons why we need separation of church and state.

Bottom line: In a disappointing defeat for historical accuracy and the education of innocent children, the GOP controlled Texas State Board of Education just voted to promote conservative Christian propaganda in statewide social studies curriculum.

Children in Texas deserve better; children deserve the truth.

In a disappointing development for historical accuracy and the education of children, dishonest Christian conservatives on the GOP controlled Texas State Board of Education have successfully forced a false historical narrative into public schools; a narrative that portray Moses as an influence on the founding fathers and the U.S. Constitution; a narrative that portrays the Old Testament as the root of democracy.

In essence, Texas public school students will be taught that the Founding Fathers based the Constitution on the Bible, and that the American system of democracy was inspired by Moses.

In effect, Texas teachers will be forced to promote a false historical narrative in service to the conservative Christian agenda.

    • Yes and they are doing it everywhere they can. Here in Florida people ignored the christian groups sponsoring religious people for school board. Then those same religious people started changing the rules and trying to get intelligent design and other bible myths taught in schools. It has been a mess. One county had to dump the whole religious school board in one election to get common sense back. Hugs

  2. GOP controlled Texas State Board of Education favours Creationisminstad of science in schools, which means : Science not allowed in Texas any longer for teaching kids,
…, and science not allowed in Texas for teaching kids, will in the future mean: TEXAS LAST
…, and responsible for that will be the gop under the leadership of trump, the conservative churches – and the white supremacists.
Texas once was a great country.

    • Miles the religious people pushing this crap simply do not care. They don’t care as long as they get to indoctrinate more kids in their religion, and as long as they can force more adults to live by the rules ( doctrines) of their religion. The religion is everything. They don’t care if it ruins the country, if it makes the kids dumb, as long as their church is in charge and taking your money. Hugs

        • See you have more faith than I do in their humanity. I do not see them caring about anything other than getting what they want. You are a nice man my friend and I am glad for that, but these people are not nice people at all. Hugs
