I am a 55 year old gay man who has been very lucky in life. Life is an adventure and I live it that way. I am in a long term married relationship with a wonderful man I adore. This is our 29th year together.
I was surprised this video made no mention of immigration which is the trigger to right wing policies , not only in Europe but in America.
The politician who seeks power blames the fall in prosperity on incomers and border control is urged. The EU prospered greatly with a no boarder system allowing goods and services to cross national boarders with out hindrance.
Remember Poland and the eastern European nations have bourne the brunt of immigration due to their position, Greece has been swamped along with Turkey and us westerners have been only too happy to use them as a barrier.

What I found most interesting was the vote percentage. The same small percentage is what tRump got and how he got into power. tRump’s supporters are only about 38% of the country.
On immigration it self it is hard for me to address as I am not in those countries. Here in the US the fact is those who wanted to maintain a white majority manufactured a crisis idea of being over run by “brown” immigrants that were taking everyone’s jobs away from them and changing the culture to some sort of horrible satanic religion. It was simply fear mongering but it worked. The facts were quite different but by repeating it over and over loudly they convinced a bunch of people that they had to stop all immigration to protect themselves and their children. Hugs

Yes, it is happening to more than just the US and we will need to be able to push back on fascism and bigotry. Hugs

There is no migration problem in Poland. Even foreigners are hardly not living there (may be 0.5 % but not more). Just Polish people there and mostly Catholic. Not comparable with the USA.

Thanks for the information. But still we do not have an immigration problem either. The crisis is false, it is manufactured to give the tRump crew a reason to crack down on any immigration from non-white countries. tRump even called for more immigration from majority white countries. The fact is illegal immigration on the border was in decline for years. The ones showing up now are refugees seeking asylum. They are people trying to save the lives of their children and themselves. Any one would do what they are doing in their shoes. Hugs

And if we stay to the truth: Poland doesn’t have’ less than 0,5 % of foreigners’ accordding to wiki it has 2 % of foreigners.
BTW: If Poland took its 160000 refugees, as the EU wants them to, they would just be 0,42% of the Polish; whereas Germany to 1 million refugees since 2015.

According the statistics of the EU the percentage of foreigners who lived in Poland as per end of 2017 amounts to 0.55 %. These are the latest official figures I know so far. It is in any case an ethnical cleaned country and actually not willing to accept Muslim refugees especially due to intolerant Christian and Nationalist politicians leading the government. Habe you ever been there?

There is a big migration problem in Poland. They just dont let any refugees into poland, while the EU wants them to take 160 000 refugees, which Poland would nottake. So it definitely is comparable with the USA and the problems with Mexican immigrants. The reasons for the many refugees in Europe are based on:
1. W. Bushs Irak-war against S. Hussein during and after that several millions of Refugeees made their way to surroundig Arab states and into Europe
2. The Syrien War, with Putin-Assad on the one side and Turkey and the Kurds with no state of their own – and the forces against Assad, Financially assisted by the USA and SaudiArab, and the Rich Oil-Sheikdoms. That war lasts since 7 years, and “produces” millions of refugees.
3 The Afghan-War, where Gerrmany even is taking part in. A continuous tide of refugeees flows from Afghanistan to Europe.
Within the EU the following states refuse to take their contingent of Refugees:
Poland, Hungary, Italy with a rightwing-Government, Austria, Czechia, Slowakia, Estonia, Latvia and Lisuthania.
The Majority of the Warimmigrants are taken by Gemany – in the range of one million.
The brings Germanyy the problem of 15% Refusers of taking in the refugees. The bring Germany the Probleblems of a loud Right-wing party, the “AfD”.
The refugee problem makes right wing-parties force their way into the whole of. Europe
So: All states of Europe are highly influenced by the consequences of the Wars the USA is leading and led in the near east and in Afghanistan. These problems cost Europe high rates of billions of €.
…. and this stupid trump is leading a trade-war against his allies in Europe.

Thank you Miles for the information you add. I wish every country would do its share, so a few don’t have to make up the slack. It is sad to see the hard right bigots rising up in all these progressive countries. Hugs

As a refugee you would not like to be in Poland, Czech Republic or Hungary. Everybody who is able simply goes somewhere else, but now this is getting difficult.
