High school student charged with raping female classmates
New York Post

A high school student in Indiana allegedly forced female classmates to perform sex acts — and told one victim who fought back to “just loosen up,” court documents show. Levi Stewart, a 17-year-old student at Plainfield High School, is facing three counts of felony rape as an adult after four classmates accused him of “threatening, intimidating and harassing” female classmates into engaging in sexual activity over an 18-month period, WXIN reports. Police began investigating the allegations after Read the full story

  1. Though I believe Ms. Ford’’s experience with Kavanaugh, I do think there is now and has always been the threat of women accusing men of sexual harassment as revenge. I think it’s important for victims to come forward immediately so that evidence is available.

    • Heather I have to respectfully disagree. I know from personal experience that people some times, well most often, simply can not come forward at the time and face it all. I do not know what the percentages are of revenge accusations, but I think they can not be that high while sexual assault and harassment is very high. I have heard of people in bitter divorces accusing each other of horrible acts including rape or sexual abuse. I have heard of those same types of cases where child abuse is accused . In both cases it is to gain an advantage and of course then it is hard to figure out. I have even heard of revenge porn sites where if a person ( normal a guy ) gets dumped by their girlfriend, they post nude pictures or video of sexual acts of the one who dumped them.

All of this is horrible and not really what we are talking about . 1 in 4 girls and 1 in 6 boys will be sexually assaulted and abused. We have to deal with this and get it stopped. We need to make each person a value that must be respected. I find when I am out in public and I look around and see four women or six guys, one of them has been a victim. That is simply too many for me to stomach. Thanks for the comment. Best wishes. Hugs

    • You have a point, but I think those who have experienced rape and/or attempted rape find it far too painful to talk about. It’s been said many women feel ashamed and actually believe they may have done something to encourage the event. Of course, this is rarely true, but nevertheless, it can play a role in a woman’s reluctance to share what happened.

Furthermore, while “revenge” could be an underlying motivation, I think the women involved would be more “open” to discussing what happened since they would hope their story would damage the reputation/career/marriage/etc. of the perpetrator.

    • Especially for young women this can be a problematical point: sometimes rape has not occurred, there is no physical evidence, only outrage and a long lasting memory. Sometimes forever. As I’ve said before, many men feel that if the rape ‘didn’t happen” then ‘nothing happened, get over it.” It’s a mindset that can be incredibly stunning to experience.

Most women cannot imagine telling their parents, their friends, their husbands, even, that this kind of thing ever happened. Unless she is found bleeding in an alleyway or brought into a hospital, the police tend to write this stuff off as negligible. That she has to live with this the rest of her life is ignored. The one statement she made that stayed with me, “he had me in a kind of hold so that I couldn’t move, I couldn’t call for help. It was obvious this was not the first time he had done this.” Yep. I know that maneuver. Sadly.

And, yeah, men and women have always used sex as a weapon. Revenge accusations have ruined more than one career, marriage, or family.

      • So true, I know. I’m a victim of sexual assault at age 15, i never told anyone even though there were witnesses , nothing was ever said. It’s teally horrific the shame and damage to self esteem. Fear too. Thank you for responding to my comment.

        • I am sorry you had to go through that. Yes it is as you say, and it stays with you forever, at least is with me. I will always try to respond and I will always be honest with you. I like comments, sometimes I learn things, and sometimes I try to explain my views better. I am going to like your comment but not the assault part. Be safe and well. Hugs

    • Yup. Think on it.. This was Kavanaugh and his friends. Except they were wealthy and in private prep schools and knew all the right people, so they get away with it. I have a lot of anger right now. Hugs
