    • It has gotten crazy. tRump and the white power groups ( sorry they prefer to be called alt-right or white nationalist but these are just nice names for racist and bigots ) have done two things about race. They have made their white supporters even more fearful of non-white people. They also have emboldened them to call the police on anything they don’t like a black person doing, even if that thing is legal. These white bigots who claim not to be racist have called the police on a little black girl selling water on the sidewalk, on a black family have a cook out in the legal area to do it in the park ( the white woman who called the police complained “why do they have to be next to my family” ) also I posted a few weeks ago about a black woman using the swimming pool of the building she lived in and a white guy calling the cops to kick her out as he was sure she was illegally there. That guy was so racist he got fired from his job when the video came out. He demanded she prove she lived there and insisted the police make her, yet no one asked him a white male to prove he lived there. Now add babysitting while black to the list of crimes. It really is all about dehumanizing and making black equal to illegal. Most of these people know what they are doing, they do want to hurt the black person, they do hope the police will over react or the black person will. These white people love it every time a black person gets put in their place by police and they cheer the white person who placed the call. The white power web sites encourage people to call the police any time they can and if questioned to give a fake excuse like this lady did, she was worried about the white kids. In some places the police have had to ask local media to remind people not to call 911 for a non-emergency. Hugs

        • It really seemed to have been getting much better. That was just a veneer it seems covering the hate and bigotry. Hugs

    • I just wrote a long response to Jim, it explained what I was able to find out. Seem the racist web sites are urging white people to call the police on black people every chance they get, even making things up. They feel it puts the blacks in their place and it also makes them less than the whites who no one bothers. It was sicking to read some of the wild ideas and plots of these groups. Hugs

  3. My first reaction is … “Unbelieveable!” But then I considered the environment we’re living in now … and my reaction becomes more like “Sickening! Disgusting! Racist!”

    • Yes. I really thought we had made grand progress in equality in this country. I was shocked at the sheer number of bigots who came out from under their rocks when tRump started dog whistling about race. I was stunned at the Charlottesville white racist rally and then sickened that one of them rammed his car into the counter protesters and killed a lady. They showed video from other events where these white guys in groups, like packs of dogs or something ) would search for a black person and then beat the shit out of them. And record it and all the time claiming such pride to be doing it. It simply boggles my mind. I can not accept it and I I don’t know how to change it. Hugs

  4. I can see her point (don’t yell, hear me out) if she doesn’t know the kids, OR the driver, I think she might have been justified in reporting it as a questionable thing. He is obviously not their father. And you hear of people grabbing kids and driving off with them, and “we saw the man, but didn’t think anything of it. The kids were waving at us from the back seat”–but you’re right, there is too much of it now, too much whitey vs.those suspicious folk…but it is the auto-assumption that because he was black he musta stole those kids. THAT;S what scalds me.

What I do find appalling is finding a black student in a cafeteria and calling security without even ascertaining who she might be. Or that delivery boy who was subject to verbal abuse when he tried to deliver a package at someone else’s house. The cops had to calm the lady down and then guard HIM as he walked back to his truck…

    • Judy, how would anyone know he is not their father? There is everything from adoption to second or third marriages.
The kids were not alarmed nor making any sign of trouble. I have been in stores where white parents are screaming at their kids and no one thinks the kids are stolen.

Yes those incidences were bad, and also there was the Yale student who had the police called on her in her own dormitory. Yes it was a black woman getting her PHD who had the police called by a white woman who just knew she was a homeless black person. Again the police never asked the white person for ID or any proof she lived there, but they did make the black woman produce her key and show her ID’s. That is the depth of the bigotry. It is just assumed white is right, black is wrong. It is about the power and privilege accorded to the white skin, and the worse less than human accorded to the non-white skin.

Back to calling the police on the babysitting while black. It was wrong. Even the children’s mother was floored by it. But the police officer was not satisfied until he talked to the mother no matter what the black man produced , the kids said, the position he had in the community, and the fact he ran a mentoring program. He was deemed guilty until he could prove he was innocent. Hugs
