  1. I believe this. About a quarter of the US population cannot correctly name which country we because independent from in 1776 (it’s even higher in the South), and something like 20% believe the Sun orbits the Earth.

Then there are all those Trump supporters who cheered for the repeal of Obamacare because they knew they had their own insurance through the ACA, not Obamacare.

And you’ve probably seen those man-in-the-street interviews of people who agreed it was very suspicious that President Obama wasn’t at the White House right after the 9/11 attack.

It’s no wonder these people are so resentful of their intellectual superiors. Who, unfortunately, include some of the more advanced species of potato.

    • I recently learned of this:

In the field of psychology, the Dunning–Kruger effect is a cognitive bias in which people of low ability have illusory superiority and mistakenly assess their cognitive ability as greater than it is.

It seems to me that is happening all across the USA. I am worried that the years of not funding education properly and of challenging any science or biology by the religious has produced a nation of rather dumb people. Not all of them, but enough to be tRump’s base and believe all the shit he spews. Hugs

This morning I visited ScottiesToyBox.com. What a great blog! Great satirical memes. I have not laughed so hard in a long time.
