  1. All of what the vid said 100% fucking true, sad to say. One of the things that I like about Oz is the wicked sense of humour here. “Taking the piss” (i.e. riposte-ing something or someone) is part of the national character. Yet there’s a touch of mirth to it here as compared to the subtle spite from American humourists such as Colbert (not that he isn’t brilliant.) And curse words sound cuter in an Aussie twang. The things they can do with the word “bastard’ (which doesn’t sound so harsh when it’s pronounced “bah-stud”)! And if you think East Timor is bad (which it is), take a look at Manus Island and Nauru — Australia’s Guantanamo concentration camps in the Pacific for refugee boat people…

    • Ouch!! I am a fan of the sites ability to tell the truth and give the government hell over misdeeds. I wish we had such a strong advocates group here. Sadly we lean on comedians who are restricted in what they can say. I am sorry but with all the fights I have for imbalance and oppression I have too much on my plate to take on any more. Best wishes and hugs
