  1. It is no surprise to me for the media have been publishing how the rich live ever since we had media. The world expects people to live up to their income , kings and queens live in a lavish style , paupers struggle to survive . It gives us inbetweeners something to get hot under the collar about although we all know inequality has been with us since the year dot.
Every now and again Sotheby’s sells works of art for phenomenal prices showing the money is there to buy these items.
I’m afraid this is the price of human society , rather like chickens we have a pecking order which seems to override our politics , our intelligence , our plans for a better world. It almost looks as if we are hard-wired to live in an unequal society.

    • Hello Kersten. The problem is she was not using her wealth or her money. She did this stun on the tax payers money. She did it at a time that republican congress wants to slash benefits for poor people. Hugs

  2. All public servants use ( or some might say ) abuse tax payers money. It was tax payers who supported the banks in the banking crisis and in UK it is tax payers who support the Royal Family. Those closest to the the tax payers money are those in charge and they they appear to use it very freely it’s so easy to spend someone else’s money. The argument always put forward is they need to represent the country and that cannot be done effectively without the splash of wealth.
Take those wonderful ministerial cars V8 diesel jaguar, my my taking care of the environment and using tax payers money wisely.
Jeremy Corbyn is regarded as a dangerous lunatic for riding a bike.

    • Ah Kersten , I think it is looked at differently here in the States. We do not like it when our leaders show off with our money. We do not have the palace mentality. I has shocked the nation the abuse of funds the tRump administration has committed. Hugs

      • I’m not too sure that all in the UK like to see public money flashed around , although some may like the opportunity to engage in a bit of exciting flashing. Just how we view money is amazingly individual ‘ how can he justify spending all that money on a car when his house needs painting ‘ . I was a milkman long ago for awhile and in those days big families were given government tokens to give the children more milk .
Imagine my surprise when I found some of those families still only had one pint of milk. I later discovered there was a black market in tokens.
It’s probably just as well we don’t know just how our taxes are used but one thing is certain the poor are not getting a fair share to make their lives more manageable.
