Thank you for this post. I have read other reports of this. What makes it so much worse is the statement put out by the head of Homeland Security. They claim it is further proof that parents shouldn’t make this journey with their kids and that the parents don’t really care about the kids. There was no mention of the long period of time she was in the custody of the border patrol, who did not even give the little girl any water , even after her father told them they had no food or water for days. Think on it, they did not even give the girl any water! The Border Patrol claims they are overwhelmed by the people turning themselves in and they are in need of medical staff and people to process the refugees. Instead they get military troops to put up razor wire. Again a little girl died in US custody because even after being told she had not had food or drink for a couple days they did not even give her a drink of water. This is on us as a country. Hugs

Badtux the Snarky Penguin

She was seven years old.

Her father turned her over to the U.S. government because they had been without food and water for several days. He turned her over to the U.S. government in hopes they would provide food and water and shelter. Instead, for eight hours they provided nothing. No food. No water. No medical care. No warm bed to sleep on. Just a cage, that’s all, a cage and some mylar “space blankets”.

She died.

Her father had reported to authorities that she needed medical care. They didn’t provide any. They didn’t try to get an air ambulance to airlift her to the hospital. It was not until she was transferred to a station further inland that had a nurse on staff that she got any medical attention, and it was too late by then.

There are people who are celebrating this death. Who are saying, “this is…

  1. The fact that they are blaming the parents is egregious. Blaming people who have nothing at all for having nothing at all is evil. I am so sick of this country. I never thought I would be saying this.

    • I am still struggling with the fact that no one gave any water to the little girl. It should be normal procedure to give bottled water to any one in custody. Heck Fema has so much bottled water they let truck loads of it sit on the ground in Puerto Rico with out even trying to pass it out. I have put out bowls of water for thirsty animals who needed a drink. How is it possible they do not offer water to people who have made a long hot trip with basically nothing. TYT did a segment on it and said that is because they no long see the ones coming across the border and the ones in custody are humans. All the talk from the president on down has been about what animals they are. They have managed to do what the Nazis did to the Jews, make them sub human. Hugs

      • Agents have been filmed dumping out water that is left out by humanitarians for migrants in the desert. So I’ve read, anyway.

There are people who, if they’d been born in a different time and place, would have been working as concentration camp guards or as inquisitors for the Church. Since they were born in this time and place, they find what opportunities they can. Always remember that only a minority of Americans support such things, though.

        • Yes they do dump the water. I seen a YouTube video where the border patrol were questioning the by standers if they put it there because they were going to arrest them. They destroyed all the water these people had tried to leave out there. In-fucking-human.

I think we showed the American people will only take so much abuse of others before the rise up. We did it for the children being held, we have done it before, and we must do it again. Thanks Infidel, your comment reminded me of things I had forgotten. Hugs

  2. Humanity has been doing this sort of thing for millennia….always hating and persecuting the “other” and all under the guise of religious hypocrisy and superiority. How man has made it this far is amazing……probably because we didn’t have the means of total destruction..
    until now.

    • Yes I dream of a world like Star Trek, where all people are not made a scapegoat for being different or having a different religious view, and equal rights are supported for everyone. Hugs

  4. What sort of men are these border patrollers ? It seems to me we can only compare them to the SS guards at Auschwitz.

    • There is a new breed of very cruel and mean patrol and ICE agents That happens when you have the top people calling the asylum seekers “animals, criminals, gang members, Eastern terrorist, child abusers”. The president and his crew have made every dehumanizing remark possible including simply taking away children as if the parents had no rights at all to even their own children. That last part is very important. In the US parental rights are very highly protected. Yet those seeking asylum have no parental rights to their own children. That is the maximum dehumanizing. Hugs

  5. Perhaps it’s me but I cannot understand why people cannot think for themselves especially when it comes to direct cruelty , is the human conscience so easily cancelled? I cannot believe that the millions of people who voted Republican are so brutal and conscienceless.
It is undoubtedly true that moral leadership is very important but these men are not children , they have minds of their own.
