And even worse than that is when elected officials seek to codify special legal status and rights for gays and lesbians, which can easily be used as a weapon against other Americans, particularly those who hold to traditional biblical views of human sexuality and gender.

As is his usual practice, Brown’s email features more than a dozen links to NOM’s donations page.

    • Hello Inspired. Yes I also worried about this. Lets hope it will be a short lived thing. Brian Brown fund raises off everything he thinks will scare his religious followers about the evil LGBTQ. Hugs

  2. Hi Scottie;
    There is truly something to be said for those who somehow manage to find a way to be a hatemonger, a true asshole, and get paid for it. And, there is something more to be said for those who would actually pay him to be all that.
    I agree wholeheartedly with Inspired.

    damn.

    hugs;

    • Hello Randy. Yes Brown is quite a piece of shit. He has a problem because the organization he uses for his grifting is losing money and support. They couldn’t get a dozen people at their last rally I believe. His partner who started the organization has quit it entirely. He will soon have to find another cause if this keeps up. Hugs

      • I actually didn’t realize that the National Organization for [excluding certain people from] Marriage was still around. Most of its former supporters seem able to grasp the concept of having lost an argument. But I guess it’s still useful for scrounging up a little pocket money from the real die-hards.

        • Hello Infidel. Very true. But then think of all the shrill evangelic “leaders” like Tony Perkins, Ralph Reed, and all the ones on Fox News fighting for the right to discriminate against others. They just seem to keep coming back repeating the same old tired lies, sort of like tRump. Hugs

  3. [Edit]

    “And even worse than that is when elected officials seek to codify special legal status and rights for blacks and Jews, which can easily be used as a weapon against other Americans, particularly those who hold to traditional Biblical and Southern views of racial supremacy and knowing one’s place.”

    The targets change over time, the mentality remains the same.

    • Hello Infidel. Yes you are correct. It frustrates me how casually some people can accept racism. We mostly hear about the most vocal or those that commit crimes based on their hate, but we forget there are white people who accept the ideas of superiority over other ethnic groups as normal. It is infuriating because it is harder to spot and harder to wipe out. It reminds me of the people who say they do not hate gay people , they just think they shouldn’t have equal rights or in their minds being open about being gay like straight people are about being heterosexual is demanding special rights. They do not see the causal bigotry to that. In other words if we don’t see them or notice them it is OK. I wonder how many people see stereotypes of ethnic groups and think they are true representations? The idea that treating others fairly is some how a “weapon against other Americans…”is a mind set I can not understand. Hugs
