Bread – Everything I own

“Everything I Own”

You sheltered me from harm
Kept me warm, kept me warm
You gave my life to me
Set me free, set me free
The finest years I ever knew
Were all the years I had with you

And I would give anything I own
Give up my life, my heart, my home
I would give everything I own
Just to have you back again

You taught me how to love
What it’s of, what it’s of
You never said too much
But still you showed the way
And I knew from watching you
Nobody else could ever know
The part of me that can’t let go

And I would give anything I own
Give up my life, my heart, my home
I would give everything I own
Just to have you back again

Is there someone you know
You’re loving them so
But taking them all for granted
You may lose them one day
Someone takes them away
And they don’t hear the words you long to say

I would give anything I own
Give up my life, my heart, my home
I would give everything I own
Just to have you back again
Just to touch you once again

  1. Hi Scottie;
    Just recently I was looking through some pics and noticed something quite sweet and memorable. I went and did a quick search on your blog to see if you had it, and close enough….. and this post seems a great place to make the comment/memory. https://scottiestoybox.com/2017/09/22/one-of-our-wedding-photos-hugs/#comments
    What made me laugh is that Ron looks so very dignified – he missed his role as a college professor! – and you look like a rock singer off tour for the moment, but I do remember how happy you were to finally be able to make your love official. Mom recently mentioned in conversation regarding a relative that went through some hard times that marriage isn’t for the weak; there are hard times that come, great times that come, and in all it is done together. It reminded me of how you two make sure to do little things for each-other – and big things. Ron building that office for you seems to qualify for the latter, but how you cook for each-other – not just make meals but cook for each-other! Very cool, my brother. Very cool.

    hugs;

    • Hello Randy. I like my hair that long and may try to do it again. Yes we do little things for each that matter. When Ron is working I text him when I go to bed and when I get up. He wanted spaghetti last night so I made a big sauce and today I think he will make either a regular or crock pot lasagna. We have been best friends and lovers since we first met. Give my best to your folks. Hugs

      • Hi my brother;
        You have got to send me the crock pot lasagna recipe. That sounds really good!

        • Hello Brother. It is good. It is made with ravioli and cheese with sauce. I will send you the recipe when Ron gets up. The slacker is still in bed. πŸ˜πŸ˜€πŸ€£πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‰πŸ˜‰πŸ˜‹ Hugs
