GOP Rep. Devin Nunes Sues Twitter For $250 Million

The New York Times reports:

Stung by obscene and pointed criticism, Representative Devin Nunes, a Republican from California, has sued Twitter and three users for defamation, claiming the users smeared him and the platform allowed it to happen because of a political agenda.

Though absorbing criticism comes with the territory for politicians, the complaint described the objectionable tweets from the three users as something “that no human being should ever have to bear and suffer in their whole life.”

  1. Not likely to win 10 cents. The standard for defamation as a public figure is very high. Especially compared to that of a private figure. A public figure must prove actual lose or damages in a tangable monitary amount. That is his first hurdle he won’t clear that.

    • Hello Michelle. My point was not that he filed a lawsuit against twitter. It was that while Republicans love to claim Democrats snowflakes that are always butthurt, they are the ones always seeming to cry the most about their hurt feelings. Just like tough man tRump, it is all projection. Hugs

      • Oh I got that too. My point was simply let him waste his money on this suit. Less money nuns = maybe he shuts up. lol

        • Hello Michelle. Wouldn’t that be great if he did shut up. I really wonder why he was so desperate to basically turn himself and his reputation into a joke doing what he did in defence of tRump. The “Midnight ride of Nunes” was so stupid it really calls into question the motivation. Could he be compromised? Did he take a lot of Russian money as others have done such as Dana Rohrabacher, who even Paul Ryan said was on the Russian payroll? It just never made sense to me. It is like the company that Flake, Booker, and Graham were involved with that got hacked by the Russians. Graham was a total never tRumper and then accepted a golf date with tRump. That very day he became a total 150 % over the top tRump supporter. Weird. I am not a conspiracy person, but there seems to be a lot of interesting coincidences happening. Hugs

  2. He’s been getting dragged on Twitter. And, multiple Devin Nunes parody accounts have sprouted up to join in. DevinNunesDad, DevinNunesSideCow, DevinNunesLawyer, DevinNunesGrapes, etc.

    • Hello Inspired. Yes! But do you remember when they had posters of Obama in a loin cloth and headress with bones? Remember the posters of him with rope around his neck? Remember the effigies they made of him mocking black people? Yet he did not whine and sue. The Dem’s did not insist on MSNBC making a constant issue of it. Yet the republicans claim to be the alpha men and the rest of us are beta cucks. Remember the founder of the Proud Boys tried to shove a butt plug up his own ass on video to own the “libtards”? These people are nutz with a vengeance. Hugs

  4. Man, those tweets mocking him are HILARIOUS! He just opened the door to 50X the amount of shit he’s gonna get. Twitter blocks repukelicans, eh? Yeah. Trump NEVER gets to post his crazy, vile shit on it, right? Fucking BABY!

  5. Hi Scottie;
    I’m a bit confused; It is not ok for a private individual or someone using an obviously fake account to use Twitter to say something that is insensitive, untrue, or even critical of a public person, but it is ok for the president to do so? It’s ok for this guy to get in front of a camera and say things that are untrue?

    • Hello Randy. I agree it is confusing the double standard. But as you know Republicans have always used that double standard to their favor.

      OT. I missed talking with you this weekend. Hope you had a good one. Ron is running on three hours sleep after a hard night of codes ( It was so bad the director came in early and gave him two free meal tickets ) as we get ready for his two sisters tomorrow. We moved the stuff out of two rooms, we have cleaned, washed, and shampooed furniture and floors. I am dying in pain, and Ron is still stumbling on. We will do the final clean in the morning before they get here. It was not so much cleaning but that we are putting them up in my old office. But there was a lot of little stuff not moved and a bunch of storage stuff Ron put in there for the time being. You know I can see why your folks call on you, sucks getting old and weaker, have to find inventive ways to move around heavy stuff. We will talk on your next days off, I have that recipe to share with you. I may post it here. Loves and hugs brother.
