White House Warns: Treason Is “Punishable By Death”

The New York Post reports:

White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders said Monday that media figures and Democrats who accused President Trump of working with Russia were guilty of treason — and could face the death penalty.

The New York Times reports:

Grim faced and simmering with anger, Mr. Trump repeated his assertion that a collection of partisan foes had effectively conspired to try to disrupt or even end his presidency with false allegations about his campaign’s ties with Moscow in 2016.

“There are a lot of people out there that have done some very, very evil things, some bad things, I would say some treasonous things against our country,” he told reporters. “And hopefully people that have done such harm to our country — we’ve gone through a period of really bad things happening — those people will certainly be looked at.

  1. Man, we’re in for even darker times, I believe.

    • Hello Inspired. We sure the shit are. One bit good news, I spend last night and today listening to podcasts by lawyers on the Barr report of the Mueller report. Seems they say the Mueller report must be really bad for tRump because Barr used a lot of lawyer tricks like pulling stuff out of a sentence to make it stand alone. Seems we just have to get the report without them destroying all the information in side it. I recommend anyone having depression over the report to listen to the Opening Arguments podcast with Andrew Torrez. Hugs

      • Stephen Colbert’s show last night was good too. He had a board out with all of the charges against Trump. Collusion was but one of about 17. Hopefully Trump relaxes and thinks all is great now for him because it isn’t. What we’ve seen is the Barr report on the Mueller report. I truly want to see Mueller’s report. I feel a bit better today. Thank goodness for MSNBC and some calm reporting.

        • Hello Inspired. Yes I agree. The thing I needed to remember is Barr was hired to put the best spin on this for his boss. He never made any bones about the fact he disagreed with the idea of the president being accountable and he is very much a political hack. So while he is smart enough not to incriminate himself, he will go right up to the line to protect tRump. Hugs

  2. Scottie – this is from a comment I made over at TG’s place:

Ah, but Congress can still subpoena ol’ Bob, and command him to bring all his notes, and homework, and whatever else he came up with in regard to his investigation. Can’t they? And for a good take on the situation as it evolved, and now stands, you could visit my buddy Jim Wright @ Stonekettle Station, as he’s as eloquent and articulate and well-mannered as usual.

Because IF Hair Furor was really and truly vindicated & exonerated, then don’t you think he would be handing out copies of the report itself like they were hamberders at a “Victory Celebration” for whichever team du jour as gets summoned to such a palatial spread?

    • Hello Dennis. Thanks for the suggested reading. I saved the blog. I wish WordPress would let us follow other blogs like we can theirs, makes it so much easier when you have a huge list of blogs to check out. As for Bob testifying to congress, I think the WH and the AG would try to prevent any real information from coming out by invoking privilege, DOJ policies, and laws about grand jury proceedings. But we can hope. Somehow this has to come out. Plus there are so many other investigations that may have serious criminal charges. Hugs

      • Thanks, Scottie. Jim has an almost cult-like following, but in a good way. And anyone who doesn’t abide by his rules is escorted to the “airlock” and tossed out without a space suit, or any breathing apparatus.
