  1. The big drawback is that he’s an EX-congressman. We need current ones to clean their noses of shit and do what’s right.

    • Further … he says what I’ve been saying: Although Democrats control the House, the chances of a conviction vote in the GOP-controlled Senate to remove Trump from office are remote. And just how do you think he would react if the whole thing fell through? We think he’s bad now … !!

      • Hello Nan. To me that is putting the cart before the horse. Despite what the House leadership would like people to believe the impeachment of Bill Clinton did not give great gains to the Republicans. The fact is we need to move forward to make the conversation move forward.

The truth is an impeachment from the House with out any action from the Senate will stand as a historical record and mean something today.

In truth I do not understand the idea that this needs to be a political calculation. Either you think tRump did something to be impeached for or he did not.

The fact is the Mueller report shows that he did try his best to obstruct justice. If the Democrats ignore this it will mean no other congress will ever be able to move forward on such a thing. Hugs

        • I posted this on Jill’s blog … it helps to understand a bit more about the process:

          • Hello Nan. Sorry for the delay getting back to you. I had my personal life interrupt my online life and I gave it quite a stern talking too. Everything in the article is correct as far as I can tell. I am a proponent of going ahead with impeachment hearings. That doesn’t mean you have to have a full house vote to impeach, nor if so to send it to the Senate. What it does is give the House a better standing to get the information they want. It also gives the news media something to latch on to as daily dribs and drabs of tRump’s criminal activates come out.
Most importantly the idea that tRump would allow the one thing he has protected all his entire life to come out in public is stupid. He would declare marshal law first. He would use all the people he has installed to over turn democracy to prevent it. That is the real crisis. He is going to do everything he can to prevent his finances from coming out including declaring war. He has too as he has committed criminal acts. Remember the only red line he made during the Mueller investigation was if they looked in to his finances. He is a money launderer and he knows we know it. He just doesn’t want it proven.

I loved the article and I hope others will read it. Can I ask you did it change your mind? What do you think of the article? What is you opinion. I do not need to remind you that you are an influential person who has a wide reaching platform. So many people, including myself, value your insight and opinion. Thanks and best wishes. Hugs

            • So many people, including myself, value your insight and opinion — You are far too kind, Scottie. And probably a bit misled. 😉 But thank you, anyway.

I thought the article was very good — which is why I referenced it. There were a couple of things that stood out to me …

If Democrats can focus attention on the top two or three stories that are simplest and most scandalous, and repeat them over and over during the proceedings, that helps create a narrative that can stick in the minds of voters.

*National media will surely give it close attention

I think both of these will “help the cause” — probably more than anything.

My biggest fear, as I’ve expressed before, is that the Senate won’t do anything. This will not only give tRumpsky fodder for his tweets, but it will further convince his followers that he’s as “pure as the driven snow.”

The bottom line, at least to me, revolves around his finances (as you’ve suggested). But he has some VERY GOOD lawyers so I’m not going to hold my breath.

Any yes … I wouldn’t put it past him to use a “war” to distract attention. It’s a dangerous move, but I don’t think he’s smart enough to see the long-term ramifications … and he won’t listen to those who are urging caution. He prefers his buddy JB’s advice.

    • Hello Nan. I agree. I wonder if they are the “feelers” or “trial balloons” to see if there is support for the position. Hugs

  2. Scottie … I followed one of the links in the story and found this …

As Trump shows, simple messaging and constant repetition are the way to break through. As Republican strategist Frank Luntz once said, “[T]here’s a simple rule: You say it again, and you say it again, and you say it again, and you say it again, and you say it again, and then again and again and again and again, and about the time that you’re absolutely sick of saying it is about the time that your target audience has heard it for the first time.”

tRumpsky is a MASTER at this! It’s going to take someone on the Democrats’ side to counter his incessant tweets that he will SURELY send out during any impeachment proceedings.

    • Hello Nan. Yes and that is also how tRump makes his lies facts, he just keeps repeating them. The thing we have to remember is that tRump is going to tweet and declare his innocence, State TV is going to put out propaganda no matter what the Democrats do. Hugs
