  2. The right wing media might have to wait a week or two for their viewers to forget this (if they even see it) before they roll out yet another story about taxes to help the “less fortunate” is an abomination and all of that aid should be taken care of by charity.

    • Hello MDavis. It still amazing to me how vindictive and hateful Republicans can be. The reporting shows this was included in the tax bill specifically to hurt NY and California. There was an effort to figure out how to hurt Blue states that provide to their people the very things the federal government refuses to provide. How hateful can these Republicans be. Hugs

      • No doubt there’s hatefulness involved as well, but what I see is the Republicans want to essentially run the country their way … and while they have a dork in office who will do their bidding, they’re taking whatever steps they can to make it happen.

I’m not a political guru, but I tend to think that even when the Dems resume their “rightful” place, it will take YEARS to undo some of the stuff the Repukes have managed to initiate and/or change to their advantage. I could be wrong. I hope I am. But …

        • It will take time, if Dems get back in charge of some things. They must find a way to point out how much of their time is being wasted repairing damages so they can’t do other things they should – and it would be awesome if they could convince certain folks that those are real damages, not “greatness” they are fixing.

        • Hello Nan. The damage will take decades and generations if not longer to heal. The lifetime appointment of young ideologue judges who will rule on religious bases or party politics rather than secular laws will stop any movement forward this country will try to make. The country will be stuck in the past for as long as it takes to remove their legally binding decisions. This never had to happen. McConnell is not even bothering to pretend to consider legislation. The only thing he is scheduling is as many judicial appointment as possible. It is obscene. He knows what he is doing and he relishes it. What a hateful old racist bigot. Hugs
