When will people learn to keep their damn guns put up? When will they learn not to keep their guns loaded and ready to fire and within reach of children? When will they learn a toddler to a teen can and will get into to stuff they ought not to?

Yes, if granny hadn’t had a gun in the first place this would not have happened. But it also did happen because of a neglectful case of stupid. I know that in cases like this the tendency is to assume there has been tragedy enough in the family already, but they need to start prosecuting cases like this as manslaughter, as a result of neglect.

Too much of this happens on a daily basis.

    • Hello Shelldigger. Did you notice in the report the husband made the claim they were the safest gun handlers and they were good with their guns. It makes me angry. Everyone thinks they are great at controlling their guns, it is only the other guy that shouldn’t have one. Everyone thinks they are the ones deserving of a gun, the other guy is the slacker who doesn’t control, store, and handle guns wrong. I recently read of a militia guy with guns everywhere who was making that very claim when his child got one of the guns and shot himself.
