The corruption of knowledge. Placing feelings-based opinion (aka “faith”) on the same level as rigorous investigation and scrupulous justification

    • Hello Nan. I posted about this the other day. I call them more than idiots. I think it is down right horrible, scary, and a serious threat to democracy. But also as someone else pointed out, they are making the kids unemployable for any upper level jobs. They will be good only for labor. Just what the companies that hate to pay a living wage want. Remember the post I did on the Orthodox Jewish schools in New York? How the kids did not get taught anything other than their religion. Most could hardly write, couldn’t read well, and couldn’t do any math. They knew only the religious history and could recite the torah by memory. They were taught in their senior year how to seek state and federal assistance because it is the only way they could live as they were basically unemployable for any real paying jobs. Plus they were indoctrinated to breed as much as possible which created a bigger burden on finances and gave a new supply of victims to the teachers / rabbis. The leaders knew all this and kept demanding the state of New York not regulate the schools. I think that they are starting to now but the damage has been done for generations. Evangelical Christians are trying hard to do the same thing in public schools. Hugs
