  1. If what this person writes is true and accurate, I hope the House gets busy … and fast! They need to strike at this guy with every possible tool at their disposal!

    • Hello Nan. Yes it is true. Did you watch the testimony. You know I had too. I did it online where I could pause it when needed or back it up to re-watch something. She told Chairman Schiff she felt intimated and she felt threatened. That will be in the articles of impeachment I bet. Both open hearings have been seriously damning for the tRump. They also shatter the Republicans defense of him. The testimony under oath shows he did it. He knew it was being done as he was over heard talking to his hand picked ambassador Gordon Sondland asking if Ukraine was going to do it, were they going to what he was demanding of them. The testimony showed this was a months long thing, that the money was being illegally withheld , that Ukraine was desperate and during the time it was held up 76 Ukrainian military died fighting Russia, and that tRump was telling Ukraine to settle with Russia on Russian terms. What more is there for the Republicans to attack at this point other than keep diverting attention to the whistleblower and to “process”. Most are now saying he did it but it shouldn’t be impeachable. Hugs

      • It must be a scary time for the Repukes. The information coming out is becoming more and more damaging.

Nevertheless … we both know the Senate won’t vote to impeach. As some have said … even if he DID kill someone on 5th Avenue, the Repukes would defend him. He’s their puppet and they LOVE him for it!

        • Hello Nan. There might be one way, not that this is the point of doing an impeachment on him. The thing McConnell fears is a recorded vote that can be used against the Republicans in the elections. If he can be swayed to go with an anonymous vote then tRump would be out and each Senator could claim they voted against removing him. The problem is as soon as tRump hears the vote is anonymous he will totally freak and attack them. Hugs

          • Elaborate on this “recorded vote.” I’ve never heard of it. Has it been done before? How is it generally used?

            • Hello Nan. Most votes in the congress are roll call votes. The names of the voters are recorded with their vote. There is also voice votes which give cover so only the chair decides which group had more supporters and so no one is recorded as to how the voted. The impeachment trial in the Senate has little structure other than past precedence. They can vote the rules in or out based on a 51 vote majority. There are some things that must have the Chief Justice who presides over the trial to approve, but that is mostly after the trial starts. The Senate gets large latitude to set the rules including length of the trial, the ability of each side to call how many witnesses, and other things. Nan this is based on things I have read and listened to on podcasts, but I have not been able to get any concrete rules on impeachment in the Senate. The rules are so vague I can not get set rules anywhere I look. Now saying all that former united states senator Jeff Flake has recommended that McConnell make the vote secret, so maybe he has the idea it can be done. Hugs
