  1. I have every sympathy for low paid workers. Every sympathy for those who can’t afford housing and mortgages but that;s just the way it is where they are. If they open up the copper mining there will be better paid people and mortgages available but will the jobs last long enough to pay a mortgage off. Will the chance of leakage or blowing dust destroy the like in the lake and the water clarity. How long before someone gets poisoned ?That destroys the flow of visitors to the area and ends even the low paid jobs. Teddy Roosevelt did what he did for a very good reason and in protection of America, his foresight should be made inviolable in law and left protected.

    • Hello David. Great points. Remember corporate greed is the cause of their poverty to begin with, so as you say they are destroying the environment for temporary profit, again corporate greed. What really needs to happen is we need to find other materials, other substances to do the job copper does. It can be done yet because of the assault on education it wont be the US that finds the solution. Hugs
