Trump Lies: Ukraine’s President Just Totally Cleared Me

Time Magazine reports:

“Look, I never talked to [Trump] from the position of a quid pro quo. That’s not my thing. I don’t want us to look like beggars. But you have to understand. We’re at war. If you’re our strategic partner, then you can’t go blocking anything for us. I think that’s just about fairness. It’s not about a quid pro quo. It just goes without saying.”

  1. Scottie, here are two questions I would like the staunch sycophants of the president who are spinning sophistry to answer. To a person under oath, none of the diplomats wanted to work with Rudy Giuliani. They saw him as unhelpful at best. So, why would they work with him if not so ordered by the US president. And, why would the president order a shadow diplomacy with such a person unless it was to unearth something nefarious under terms that benefitted him which he did not want the others to know about?

The defenders of the president have said none of these people heard the order directly from his mouth. Yet, the president won’t let anyone who heard him testify and claims the process is unfair. You cannot have it both ways. Who gains from all this? Why not use normal channels? Why try to hide the call? And, so on.

By the way, other leaders do their best not to poke the bear. So, if they need his help, they won’t call him out in an overt way. Keith

    • Hello Keith. Very true. M. Cohen said that tRump never gave out right instructions to break the law instead relied on telling people what generally what he wanted and expected them to get it done. That is a mob tactic he learned early.

Keith you are correct on everything you mentioned, and we all know why the Republicans are defending him. They either fear being primaried due to gerrymandered districts in which the most extreme of the party win, or they are being paid by Russia / compromised by Russia.

Also you are correct on foreign leaders trying hard to avoid direct conflict with tRump, heck even Boris Johnson is trying to keep his distance from him and they are of the same mind on stuff. Also Johnson is reported to being help by Russia, a report Johnson is refusing to make public until after the election despite the law requiring it to be made so.

The question I have is more to after tRump is gone. How do these Republicans that so strongly protected him in every way recover? How does this party separate it self from his cult? Or do they simply see this as the new future and they never want democracy to come back?

Keith you are a person of integrity and ability to reason, I have enjoyed reading your posts and letters to the papers you have shared. We do not see eye to on some issues but that is OK. My question is really what happens after tRump. I have seen in the last decade the Republicans try so hard to rig elections, they know they are not appealing to the people of the country, they know the demographics are against them, they know they are a dying party. Yet they take every opportunity to sabotage democracy and to force their own party into a one party rule regardless of the wishes of the people and country. I often compare their wishes to a one party rule like China with them being the ruling party. Thanks for your opinions and input. Hugs

      • Thanks Scottie. Life would be boring if we all agreed on every issue. I, too, like how you think and your life experiences, especially the ones in the military that offer context.

I do think there is some validity to this overarching theme of a global oligarchy of white business leaders. Steve Schmidt, a former GOP strategist, noted a couple of years back, the Koch Brothers set in motion a multipronged strategy to address whites becoming a plutocracy, not a majority. The first part was to win more states, govern boards of universities, recruit new people and suppress votes. ALEC offered cookie language to enable this. This precedes Trump, but he has taken the message to new heights, enabling white nationalists by not condemning them and reaching out to a Caucasian and civil liberty restricting Russia. I wish I was making this up, as it is scary to think about.

This is why it is so important to defeat Trump, as our democracy is threatened as is our national security. If Trump wins, we will see a more unleashed Trump and his Republican sycophants will not be able to restrain this Pandora.

        • Hello Keith. I understand and agree. I have seen all you have described, Ron was David Koch butler, so I have second hand knowledge of what you are saying. This doesn’t bode well for our country. Hugs
