That hurts. Because I like Mayor Pete. However, he is getting several barbs thrown at him now that he’s rising in the polls. But that’s the nature of the beast. Right or wrong, it’s the game of politics.

Hello Nan. I wanted to support Mayor Pete. My Hubby and I first gave to him and to Warren. However he lost our support. He started out really progressive, he was on the same path as Warren and Sanders. But his campaign stuttered and he started holding big money fund raisers and spending time with super PAC donors. His stance has shifted drastically to now he is more like Klobuchar. She is entirely using Republican talking points in trying to appeal to moderate Republicans, if there is such a thing. Mayor Pete also wont give specifics on any policy or how he would implement his plans. He speaks in platitudes and sound bites. His is whole thing is lets all be friends, similar to Biden’s idea that the Republicans will suddenly start reaching out to Democrats and be willing to to work / compromise with Democrats. Now with all the issues of race coming out due to his past conduct as Mayor, I am worried. Sad as it is to admit there are a lot of gay people who are racists bigots. It makes no sense to me at all, why subject others to what you suffered also, but it is true. It maybe that Pete is bias negatively against black people due to where he grew up or just doing the bidding of his donors who were racists, but the evidence shows his actions were harmful to the POC in his time as Mayor. It is a big issue not only for what it may show, but because he simply cannot get the support of the black community which we desperately need to get tRump out of office. Now we have Mayor Pete repeating a Republican talking point basically saying we can not do any progressive action because it may raise the debt but not mentioning the fact the Republicans blew the deficit up with the tax cuts for the wealthy. Not to mention he is simply wrong on the history of which party has lowered the debt and which party has raised the debt. That makes me wonder why? He is said to be super smart, so he should know better. Are his donors pushing this idea? Hugs
