Preachers Win Right To Harass At Chicago’s Bean

Filed under: News, Political, Questions, Reason, Religion — Scottie @ 18:38

Why is it that the people most driven to share their deeply held beliefs about gods love and how he did it all to save sinners, do so while bashing everyone not like them?   Yes god came to save you so let me destroy you now.  Great message and so welcoming.   And again people wonder why I am becoming even more anti-theist.   Hugs

Jeremy Chong, a sophomore at Wheaton College and member of the Wheaton-sponsored Chicago Evangelism Team, said in a phone interview Friday there would be between 15 and 35 students joining him in Millennium Park on Friday night despite the city’s efforts to keep the ministry from preaching in the beloved park.

“We are there to share the greatest news of all time, which is that sinful people can be saved, and they can be reconciled to God by faith in Jesus who died on the cross to save all sinners,” Jeremy Chong, a sophomore, said.

“Why must those gays always be shoving it down our throats?” shouted the people who literally scream at strangers on the streets, in parks, on the subway, and on hundreds of TV and radio stations.

  1. LOL Scottie;

    Was that third sentence done that way on purpose?

    The funny thing: There is no attempt to truly sway someone to a different choice at these things. If someone wanted me to do something different and started screaming at me, it wouldn’t make me think their argument was more attractive in any way. They would make me angry, and I think many others feel similar. It is a chance to stand up and declare that they are “right” and someone else is “wrong”. No love shown, no hope given, no comfort provided.

    • Hello Brother. The third quote is from the website I got the story from I linked to. There was a much longer story link there. Check it out and let me know what you think. While I follow the links down the rabbit hole I do not think my viewers want to spend that much time doing so. So I try to keep it distilled to as few linked pages as possible. Hugs
