13 Deaths in a Day: An ‘Apocalyptic’ Coronavirus Surge at an N.Y.C. Hospital

How do I make it any clearer to those who do not want to admit the huge problem we face?   This is going to happen in every community unless we get serious about locking down and staying at home.   Hugs

In several hours on Tuesday, Dr. Ashley Bray performed chest compressions at Elmhurst Hospital Center on a woman in her 80s, a man in his 60s and a 38-year-old who reminded the doctor of her fiancé. All had tested positive for the coronavirus and had gone into cardiac arrest. All eventually died.

“It’s apocalyptic,” said Dr. Bray, 27, a general medicine resident at the hospital.

Officials have also discussed converting hotels and arenas into temporary medical facilities.

At least two city hospitals have filled up their morgues, and city officials anticipated the rest would reach capacity by the end of this week, according to the briefing. The city requested 85 refrigerated trailers from FEMA for mortuary services, along with staff, the briefing said.

There is a lot more, a lot more at the link above.  I have 22 unopened tabs of news to get to and most of them are about this virus.  I will stay up as long as I can and then leave the tabs open so if there is something I think you need to know I will post it.

Personally my fall has made my pain situation much worse.  I am very much disrupted by this.  I told Dennis the other day my pain was under control.  It is not.  I can barely walk with a lot of pain. I have to keep getting up when sitting due to the pain far more frequently than the past.    I will wait until Friday and if it doesn’t seem better I will call my pain doctor for an emergency appointment.  The X-Ray showed more of the expected damage but not anything drastically there from before.  Hugs

    • Thank you Jill and hello. I have been spending most of my time in bed. The problem is in my back, I must have done more damage in my fall. I will try to get an appointment with my pain doctor soon to get more pain medications. Hugs
