I want to know what tRump got for this shipment?  Really, tRump is making US state Governors kiss his ass and say nice things about him to get supplies the government has, what did he get from China?   Hotel deals?  Deals for Ivanka?  Hugs

U.S. sent 17.8 tons of masks, respirators, other PPE to China in February

As states fighting the COVID-19 novel coronavirus detail their struggles with shortages of personal protective equipment, a U.S. State Department release revealing a 17.8 ton donation of masks, respirators and other PPE to China has come under increased scrutiny.

Secretary of State Mike Pompeo tweeted about the humanitarian relief on February 7. A State Department release that same day offered more details about “the transportation of nearly 17.8 tons of donated medical supplies to the Chinese people, including masks, gowns, gauze, respirators, and other vital materials.”

“The truth is that I was on the phone yesterday talking to companies and here’s what I ran into: in one case we’re competing for ventilators with FEMA and the federal government,” Pritzker told NBC. “So Illinois is bidding for ventilators against the federal government. In another case, we were bidding against foreign countries and other states. And so what’s happening too, not just on ventilators but on all the PPE that we need, prices are being ratcheted up and we’re competing against each other on what should be a national crisis where we should be coming together and the federal government should be leading, helping us.”

On Friday, Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer told the Detroit Free Press: “I’ve asked repeatedly and respectfully for help. We need it. No more political attacks, just PPEs, ventilators, N95 masks, test kits.

  1. Wow! I’m sure as this pandemic comes to an end, we’ll be seeing many more stories like this. I’m trying to be positive, but it’s really difficult.

    • Hello cornfedcontessa. The thing is at that time we had cases in the US and world wide the warnings were out about how this spreads through a country. He acted against the needs of the US and I wonder what he got for it. Everything with tRump is transactional, everything is for a price. Hugs

      • You know he and his stoolies are making money off of this. I just don’t understand how anyone can still support him.

        • Hello CC. Because the cult followers he has run on emotion not reason. He appeals to their emotional needs and they are thrilled how he makes them feel. They feel they finally belong to the winning team, the wealthy team, they are above all those who looked down on them before. They can let loose with their most vile personality traits and it is OK, because the president does it also. He thinks like they do, and he talks like them. Hugs

        • Because they never hear of actions like this … or if they do, it’s a manipulation in his favor by Faux News, their primary source of info.

  3. Well, I’m far away from wealthy and the Turnip has never made me feel anything positive at all. He has made me feel fear, ridicule, sorrow, the entire gamut of things you feel about the mentally ill people who refuse to seek help from professionals, but never anything like I’m feeling now. I had already decided to make masks for the local hospital and every other agency needing them around here. Hopefully JoAnns fabric store is still donating supplies to home seamstress who will do this. Now I hope every person who knows how to thread a needle will do what they can with whatever they can come up with to help our First Responders who-put their lives on the line constantly for us. As you know, I had need of them recently myself and they came into my building without hesitation to help me. So I;m going to be making masks. How ’bout everyone else helping out also? It seems our leaders don’t really plan on it. Hugs

    • Hello Angela. It is wonderful you are willing to use your talent to help fill this desperate need. I know it was announced this morning that several fashion lines had sidelined their products to also make masks. I have heard that Ford was already in talks with GE to produce ventilators, but they won’t be ready until June. As for not planning, the office that was set up to plan what would be needed for a pandemic was disbanded in 2017 by tRump. That is why no one was ready because the very people who had the job were fired and the very office in charge of that planning was closed. Thanks to the orange monster. Hugs

      • Well of course they were fired and the office closed! The Turnip knew back then the Democrats would be doing something like this to discredit him — not that he hasn’t tried to do an excellent job of that himself. Idiots shouldn’t be allowed on social media and birds should never tweet out line when they are that strange. Many hugs
