  1. Scottie, yesterday General James Mattis and former Secretary of Defense under Trump said the following about his former boss:

“Donald Trump is the first president in my lifetime who does not try to unite the American people — does not even pretend to try. Instead he tries to divide us. We are witnessing the consequences of three years of this deliberate effort. We are witnessing the consequences of three years without mature leadership.”

This is the man Republicans felt could be the final buffer between a Trump rash decision and execution. When he left in December, 2018, people were worried. They should have been. Now, watch Trump’s sycophants attack the person they begged not to leave.

    • Hello Keith. Yes the attacks have been coming. What I find interesting are those demanding that Mattis shut up, that he keep quiet. These people want only one side of any issue aired, the side that looks best for them. No other views may be shared openly. See tRump is now claiming he gave Mattis his mad dog nickname. This is such a lie but tRump really doesn’t even pretend to understand reality anymore. Hugs

      • Scottie, to reinforce that Trump is lying, he introduced Mattis’s name to one of his pep rallies saying and your going to like his nickname. As Thomas Wells said in 2015, “Donald Trump lies everyday, even about things of no consequence.” Keith

        • Hello Keith. Yes very good memory of recent history! But how to get his cult followers to see this, and even more important how to get them to care? Hugs

          • Scottie, the only way is to do what Daryl Davis did with the KKK to talk them out of their robes. Ask questions, listen and ask a few more. “Help me understand why General James Mattis would feel the need to condemn the president for dividing the country?” “Why would long time conservative George Will get so frustrated with what Trump’s done that he called on his defeat, but also the defeat of the GOP Senate majority to fix our country?” I think we have reached a tipping point and the GOP is and should be very worried about the Trump anchor. • Hello Keith. Talking to some may work, the hard core cult wont believe anything you tell or show them if it goes against what SPTV ( fox news ) is drilling to them.

As for GOP politicians. Keith I think you are wrong. Did you see the clip of the reporter MSNBC reporter Kasie Hunt asking Republicans if what tRump did violently clearing the park of peaceful protesters was the right thing to do. Only one responded she was troubled. tRump has attacked her viciously and vowed to support who ever primaries her in her next election. They are beyond reaching at this point. Hugs

              • Scottie, the ice is breaking and more Republicans are beginning to say things they would not have said before. I agree, not enough of them yet, but it is occurring.. I was encourage by Grassley holding up votes on vetting as he wants information on firing of a couple of Inspector Generals. Plus, there are more than a couple of GOP Senators in trouble on reelection. That is progress. Keith

                • Hello Keith. Grassley is holding up basically one minor appointment. He has not tried to stop anyone for a major post, no judges, not anything that matters. Grassley really can not be hurt by tRump at this point, he is so old he may not live to run again, yet he is still tip toeing around so he doesn’t cause too much backlash. It is window dressing because he was getting so much flax for being the champion of whistleblowers yet was not doing anything about tRump firing all those Inspector Generals. He has not even decided if he will run again. It is all show and charade IMO. Hugs

                  • Scottie, I think most of politics and all of Trump’s politics is a charade. Trump even told his communication people we need to win the daily ratings war, so he sees it as all perception. This is why I call the folks who show a little political courage to applaud them for it. Then I tell my Senators that I applaud these other folks for the bravery. I called Grassley, Murkowski, Romney and Collins. I guess my main reason for calling is to let the staff know their boss is doing better, when they stand up to Trump for his misdeeds.

They are even more courageous since the president has always been a highly vindictive person. That is why Senators should have stood up for those who testified about Ukraine as they knew what they were up against. Instead, the GOP House and Senate chose to support the vindictive, corrupt person. Keith
