  1. yeah, my dad was one of them. I gotta send an explanation note and the check meant for me back pretty soon. If i cash it, it’s gonna be hauled out of my taxes in the end (probably with interest).

Doesn’t matter, anyway. My dad’s was direct deposited because he got money back from the government (I figured they were trying to direct deposit most of them and my name was on the account as power of attorney, so I figured they went that route. I never thought they wouldn’t have consulted with the IRS to see about who died the past two years!)

So technically, I got his money–and I said that it felt like hush money from Dump to shut up and stop complaining, so I donated it all to the local food bank because they’ve been stretched and thousands needed their help more than I needed the money. And I got a little grin thinking dad would’ve been pissed off that I did that, because he was a Dump supporter.

    • Hello TheChattyIntrovert. I am sorry you had to go through that. The articles I have read said the government did not intend to try to get the money back, so it is very honorable of you to send yours back. Hugs

      • I’m paranoid about screwing up my taxes, so I’m determined to get it right. Besides, if they think he’s alive, I might get other tax notices saying he’s delinquent all of a sudden, too!
