Scotties Toy Box

June 27, 2020

Remember Steve Schmidt is a republican strategist who for years made the Republican party what it was and opened the way to tRump.

Preach, Steve. You’re on the righteous side of history. Your indignation is fuel for the morally just.

  1. Scottie, his voice needs to be broadcast to many. I would share it with Senators and ask what they think. He just did not say he had policy differences – he said Trump was the worst president we have ever had and apologized for using the word idiotic, but he felt that was the best way to describe Trump’s actions and words. • Hello Keith. I agree. I just don’t follow the idea that the enemy of my enemy is my friend. Schmidt will revert to his anti-Democrat anti-left hard right views as soon as tRump is gone. Right now there are two types of Republicans giving advice to Democrats, the anti-tRump ones and the pro-tRump ones. I doubt either of them have the best interest of the Democrats in mind. Hugs

      • Scottie, Schmidt has been a little more active than recently being against Trump. He was advocating for Dems to retake the House in 2018. He noted it was a matter of national security. He said there has been a long term plan to address the future demographics that would be hurtful to Republicans dating back to the late 1990s. The reduction of freedoms, the added voter restrictions, the limits on immigration, the taking over of university boards, the taking over of state assemblies and using ALEC legislation and so on.

We need to listen to his concerns and welcome him to this fight. Keith

        • Hello Keith. I did not say not to hear him out, I did not say reject his actions against tRump. Unless he has changed it is Republican strategist that paved the way for tRump. Every step of the Southern strategy was promoted by Republican strategist like Schmidt. I watch the Sunday news stations I can get. When I see these people that advice Republican campaigns like Chris Christie explaining what the Democrats need to do, how it always seems the the advice is to be more like Republicans, I don’t think they have the Democratic causes as their goal. These people only want their Republican causes and Republican politicians to win. I think their real goal is to make money and to advance their causes, not to help Democrats. Hugs

          • Is it not possible that a Republican can dislike all that Trump stands for to the point that he will promote Democratic ideals just to remove him? Is it not possible that a person can support Republican causes and philosophy but feel that both are being twisted and distorted by Trump, thus it is imperative to remove him?

Schmidt may be totally “red” at his core … and he may “revert” to this core once Trump is gone … but for now, perhaps he feels he MUST declare his antipathy because Trump is destroying all that the Republican party stands for.

I don’t know … and I’m not going to “argue” for or against either side. I’m just throwing out some thoughts to ponder.
