Hello Nan. Yes, many tears. It did not have to be this way. It is now going to be really worse for the US. Really just because our delusional president and his SPTV enablers along with the sycophants in his party wanted to deny the truth, the real cost and harm are to the rest of the people in our country, and it shows how unprepared and how in danger the people of our country are. I wish I could express it better. Hugs
Scottie, two comments. It will get worse. And, none of this should be a surprise. I heard on NPR a doctor say unleashed homebound folks wanted to return to normal. But, that is where leadership failed. If they have been told the truth from the outset, people could have been told, we must be cautious, wear masks and be socially distant and wash hands.
Even the simple thing of the president not wearing a mask is misinformation. And, these folks who want masks made here, I am reminded of a mask maker in mid-January begging the administration to fund his turning on two empty manufacturing lines. He told them then, there was going to be a mask shortage. That is why people advisors were initially sheepish on masks, because there were not enough of them. But, the president had decided to naysay than prepare.
Hello Keith. Yes I remember the mask making company was turned down and the contracts that came later went to friends of Jared. This debacle can be laid at the feet of tRump. His lack of leadership, his delusions, his fears, his instance on ignoring the science and the evidence of other countries. All of this and the pandering to him by Republican elected officials has brought us here. Hugs
Scottie, very true. Conservative David Brooks lays into Trump on PBS Newshour for his “failure in leadership.” I have used this metaphor before, but in January or even early February after being briefed on the pandemic risk six times, the ball was sitting there on the tee for him to be presidential. And, he whiffed. Keith
