Trump Calls Giuliani: “I Had To Confront” COVID So That The American People Stopped Being Afraid Of It

The New York Post report:

President Donald Trump phoned Rudy Giuliani from his hospital bed Saturday afternoon to declare he feels so healthy, “I could get out of here right now.”  The former Big Apple mayor said his friend of 30 years sounded hale and hearty during the conversation. “If you can judge by the way he speaks, he sounded like vintage Donald Trump,” Giuliani said. The president dictated a statement to Giuliani.

“You go tell people I’m watching this coverage. I feel I could get out of here right now. But they’re telling me there can always be a backstep with this disease. But I feel I could go out and do a rally. I am the president of the United States. I can’t lock myself in a room. I had to confront [the virus] so the American people stopped being afraid of it so we could deal with it responsibly.”

‘I’m going to beat this,’ Trump tells Rudy Giuliani of COVID-19 during phone call

“We have made tremendous progress on treating this disease. Fatality rates are very low compared to [the beginning].

“I’m going to beat this.

“Then I will be able to show people we can deal with this disease responsibly, but we shouldn’t be afraid of it.

“If I had handled it any other way, I would have created more panic, more fear in the American people.

“We are making great progress on dealing with this disease and making better progress with the economy than anyone had the right to expect.”

The president’s physician, Dr. Sean Conley, told reporters Saturday morning that Trump has no fever, is not taking oxygen and is in “good spirits.” But he warned, “The first week of Covid, and in particular days seven to 10, are the most critical in determining the likely course of this illness.”

Again notice tRump had better medical care, and access to the most restricted treatments / medications available.     Also I am watching two different narratives play out.   Hugs

You read my mind! What of the millions of uninsured Americans stricken by COVID? By what stretch of imagination is the irreverent orange buffoon privy to experimental treatment and round the clock care while countless others take their last breath in anguished, desperate solitude? Go out and do a rally? Surely not before 14 day quarantine? Had to confront the virus so people wouldn’t be afraid? Excuse me? Surely he’s not referring to catching the virus and recovering to prove it’s no big deal? ARGH!!!!!!

Hello Notes To Ponder. Yes I agree. I think he will try to do more rallies, and I think he will use this as an excuse not to do more debates. I watched several interviews with his cult supporters today who previously said it was a hoax, now saying tRump is proving it is really no big deal at all, it has been overhyped by the liberal media. They are not hearing the part about his round the clock best medical care that only the very wealthy or powerful can get. He has a doctor and medical equipment on hand in the place he lives and works, that go with him when he travels. But I think a lot is being hidden from the public so the WH and tRump can spin this as he is a super hero taking on the virus just to prove how easy it is to get over being sick from. Go back to doing everything like before covid, keep wall street happy, make profit for the wealthy, and if you get sick or even die know that tRump healed himself from the virus that is sickening you. WTF. Hugs

Trump and the WH are such stinking rotten lying bastards it’s almost impossible to believe anything they say.

Hello Jeff. Yes I agree. In a time where it is critical we should trust the WH and tRump, we simply cannot do so. It was said this would happen. It is the classic cry wolf story. They have shown truth is only what tRump wants it to be, nothing else. Hugs

Scottie, Notes to Ponder noted a comment I was going to add. Access to health care is a must. Multi-factor health issues (age, obesity, COPD, diabetes, eg.) are important. About 210,000 Americans have died. We cannot lose sight of this. Again, I do not wish ill on anyone and hope he recovers. But, flouting caution has brought this on. Ridiculing staff for wearing masks has put people (and himself) at risk. Not emulating the behavior that is needed put Americans and himself at risk. Evem after he went to the hospital, spokespeople had to be told to put masks on.

To be frank, unless cautions – social distancing, masks and avoiding large gatherings – are more universally followed, COVID-19 will be with us for awhile. Full stop. Keith

Hello Keith. I agree, well said. The thing even after the reporters ask Mark Meadows to put on a mask he refused.

Did you listen to tRump’s video statement. He is not humbled, he is not even thinking of the people who do not get the care and medical treatments he could. He was still bragging about himself, his great ability, his amazing recovery. He is still talking about doing in person large rallies. Hugs

Scottie, telling folks this is no big deal is in keeping with his misinformation bent. Keith

Hello Keith. Yes I agree. But by going out for a joy ride putting everyone involved at high risk, by leaving the hospital early he is doing the same thing he did with masks, giving his followers permission not to follow the rules. Rules are for others, not the followers of the great Dear Leader. Hugs

We are mere pawns in this king’s world. Our health matters not. His staff’s health matters not. His donors’ health matters not. His base’s health matters.

HA! I noticed in your “categories” for this post that you listed “Asshole.” 😂😅🤣

I hope and “pray” this conversation is Guiliani’s version and not the real one … if it took place at all.

Further, there are several people in his circle who have tested positive and any one of them could have a bad reaction. So is he going to pooh-poohed them as well when they end up on oxygen and on death’s doorstep?

Sidenote: I CANNOT STAND Kaitlan Collins! Yes, she’s attractive so it’s obvious why they use her so much, but if you really listen to her, she basically says something and then rewords it a half-dozen different ways and ends up saying essentially what she started out with. UGH!

Hello Nan. While tRump will deny any long last side effects from his brush with Covid, he also got the very best in treatment not even his staff will get. They won’t get the experimental antibodies, and if their cases don’t warrant the aggressive treatments they won’t get them like tRump did. But tRump won’t see that, he will crow about how strong he is, how great his body, how wonderful his system. Hugs

If this is gonna be part of his next campaign ad, who wants to bet they’ll pipe in the Superman theme in the background?
