Nothing new here. It’s a repeat of the 30s and 40s. And the 1800s. And throughout history. The bigots always create an enemy. They always want to reclaim a society they never had.
Hello Cagjr. I really thought the race issue in the US was getting better pre-Obama. As a white older male it was not in my face. But the reaction of the Republicans and Tea Party to the Obama’s opened my eyes. The last few years have really opened my eyes. The question is how do we get to the point where racism, even causal racisms is simply not tolerable, not accepted, so socially abhorrent that even die hard racist try to hide it? I think that is the only way to stomp it out, make it so unacceptable that people stop doing it. Of course education is the key, and having a truly integrated society would really help. Hugs

We dealt with it before and we will again.
