Daily morning cartoon / meme roundup: There is no doubt tRump is a terrorist that inspired and encouraged the attack on the capital. Republican Senators cower in fear that tRump will inspire primaries against them. Their personal desires for power and perks come before the good of the country.

Scottie, we can only control things in our power. I suggest we consistently refer to the former president, not by name. Here are the ones I have gravitated toward:
the former president is the easiest instead of his name
the twice impeached former president adds accuracy and length
the traitorous former president is apt and shorter
the seditious former president is also true.
The seditious former president was not convicted, but many senators took the path of cowardice and said it was due to unconstitutionality as an attempt to save face. I was particularly unsurprised by McConnell’s words of condemnation AFTER the vote, as he tried to play both sides. His words were appreciated, but were late and typical McConnell. Keith
Hello Keith. Yes McConnell tried to have it both ways. He wants tRump gone and he wants the Republican party back in charge. He knows that right now the base that tRump controls, yes controls is the correct word, can determine who wins in a primary. He knows that if he voted to convict tRump his fellow Republicans in the Senate would remove him as minority leader. That would prevent him from getting his part of the party back in charge. Now he is hoping that some investigation of criminal actions will sideline tRump before the next elections. He is hoping that some DA will prosecute tRump and do what he did not have the courage to do. But I see the party sliding ever more into Q territory. The rational side of the Republican party has lost. That is why so many former party leaders are doing what I suggested so many times, looking into forming a new conservative party. Hugs
Scottie, I cannot find fault with your logic. Jill and I have been posting and commenting on the courage of the seven Republican Senators (as well as the ten House Republicans) who voted to convict and impeach. They knew they would be at great risk. Here is a comment I posted on her site this morning.
Two thoughts pop into my head about the state Republican parties that are censuring Republicans who voted to impeach or convict. Each time they take aim at one of them, it gives them the chance to repeat their resolve into why the former president is a traitor. Which leads me to my second thought. Being a traitor and causing the death of now seven people by consistently lying and inciting is not worth censuring, but telling said traitor they do not approve is. That is the story in a nutshell. And, there is something terribly wrong with that story.
I love “Free Range” today, and of course enjoy “Aunty Acid.” All of them are on point-thank you, and I hope your Valentine’s Day has been wonderful! 💖💌
Hello Ali. Yes our valentines day was great. Ron gave me a card and chocolates, and I gave him a new fancy over the stove glass wall vent. It was what he wanted. Did you get snow? Hugs
OMG, we got snow. 5.5 inches! Light, fluffy stuff; no dangers from it, but the temps are really low. Like below zero. I’m thankful for a cozy little house and working heat! I’m glad you had a great Valentine’s – it sounds so nice! I painted my DH a nice card, and cooked all stuff he likes all day (sort of what I do every day, but more and he was off work. And I don’t paint him cards every day.)
