Daily morning cartoon / meme roundup: It is a democracy so let the people vote. Republicans are a shrinking minority fighting to rule the majority. Rather than do what the people want as in a democracy, Republicans are demanding the people do what the wealthy donor class wants to keep Republicans in power.

Scottie, since the future demographics do not favor the party, the options to remain in power do not all involve altruistic missions. Limit the vote, limit the influence of the opposition are two key mantras. Keith
Hello Keith. Lets look at the situation honestly. Take McConnell, Hawley, Cruz, Nunes, McCarthy and that ilk and ask what do they think democracy is? What do they really want? Republicans have convinced the average person in the US to take a growing decline in their living standards while increasing the living standards of the wealthy. They did that deliberately. So they clearly do not care about the people of the country or their living conditions. I think they would be happy if the lower incomes were prohibited from any contact or dealing with the political class at all. So for all their talk of freedom, do they want a democracy or not? Seems to me they want power and money, and democracy is not necessary for either, and it is an inconvenience for them to get what they want. I really use to think they wanted to take the US back to the 1950’s, but now I think they want to take it back to the 1850’s. Hugs
Hello Keith. Cagjr also agrees that the Republicans / wealthy donors want the robber baron days. I was adding the racial component I see. I think they want a time where the wealthy white Christians could vote and were in charge, and black people knew their place while the LGBTQ were hidden, not talked about. Either way it is not a time I wish my country to return to in anyway. I always fancied the utopia worlds of Star Trek where the well being of people and equality was accepted and understood. Hugs
I love Calvin & Hobbes, Peanuts … and more that I can’t think of right offhand, but check out this site, for I can always find something to love there: https://www.gocomics.com
Hello Jill. I use that site for a lot of the comics I post. What I do is open each individual comic, then bookmark them in a folder, so that in the morning I can click on that folder and open all 78 pages of comics at once. Then I go through them posting the newest and best. I will look up the ones you mentioned, and see if I can add them to the folder. Thanks. Hugs
You go through 78 pages of comics every morning! WHOA, Scottie! I will appreciate your cartoon posts even more from now on, knowing how much time and effort you put into them! Doonesbury is also a good one, and yes, if I think of others, I’ll let you know. Thanks for all you do, my friend! Hugs

Scottie, I would have the difference and say the 1890s during the Robber Baron period. Keith
