CBSN Originals | The Right’s Fight to Make America a Christian Nation

I found this interesting. The beginning gives the Christian nationalists plenty of room to state their case, so it felt like I was being preached at. But then it shows the other view. I felt like more time should have been spent debunking the false claims of the US being a Christian nation and founded by Christians for Christians. I thought most of the Christians did not realize how one sided they were being and looking at it to only please themselves. One guy did though. He flat out said he was a Christian and wanted the US to be the way he wanted it, with no regard to how others felt. His parents wanted it Christian, he wanted it Christian and he would fight for that. Let me know what you think. It is a serious threat to the nation. Hugs

  • Part of the problem is that so many of these people are home-schooled & have no history except for what supports their pro-Christian-America mindset … if they had a decent education in the wars of religion that tore Europe apart in the 1600 & 1700’s (even the Scottish uprisings in the 1700’s were religious & they directly influenced the American Revolution), they would understand WHY the founders of this nation did NOT want a state-sanctioned religion, Christian or otherwise.

The other part of the problem is that they so fervently “believe” … you can’t talk to people like this. Their beliefs supersede any logical argument you may make.

    • Hello Polly. True, education in youth is key. The first home schooled kids grew up to teach that incorrect version of history to their home school kids. An entire industry has grown up to support those lies. I posted some on the history of these companies and it was a deliberate attempt to spread false information to force a resurgence of religious fervor. Some of these groups are playing a long game and they are also willing to play dirty to win. Hugs
