more than 900 more children harmed by the US government kidnapping

Filed under: Bigotry, Children, Criminal, Family, Fascism, Harm, Hate, News, Political, Questions, Race — Scottie @ 06:30

This is kidnapping and child trafficking.

Taking children from their parents over an alleged misdemeanor is barbaric. What ever happened to due process? These are not felonies.

For those who troll and say they are ‘illegal’, so is a parking ticket or driving 56 in a 55 limit. You don’t take kids away for those misdemeanors!!!!

Branding migrants ‘illegal’ while this asshole is squatting in the Oval Office, working with Russians and obstructing his own FBI investigation is just too much bullshit for us to bear.

Trump belongs at The Hague on trial for crimes against humanity.

Border Patrol Detained a 9-Year-Old American Girl on Her Way to School for 32 Hours It didn’t matter that she had her U.S. passport with her.

I do not look like my state issued drivers license.  My picture was taken when I had a much more full face, no beard or facial hair, and very long hair way past my shoulders.   I get funny looks when I go to vote but because I am an older white man no one says anything to me about it.  I use that ID when ever one is needed and no one has a problem that I do not look like the picture.   Yet here a person stopped a 9 year old and held her for 32 hours “because she did not look like her picture”.  Racism, bigotry, and fascism is alive and well in the US.   Hugs

As the Morning News reports, Galicia’s detention “appears to have been a bureaucratic mix up,” caused by an application for a Mexican visa to visit the U.S. filled out in his name. Galicia told the paper that he was held with 60 other men and not allowed to shower for the 23 days he was held, and by the time he was released he had lost 26 pounds. “It was inhumane how they treated us,” he said. “It got to the point where I was ready to sign a deportation paper just to not be suffering there anymore. I just needed to get out of there.”

The broad strokes of Galicia’s story, a U.S. citizen held by immigration authorities and threatened with deportation because of paperwork, is shockingly common. Peter Sean Brown, a Philadelphia man with the same name as an immigrant, was held for weeks and nearly deported to Jamaica. Officials weren’t swayed by his state-issued IDs that are only available to people with social security numbers. And in March of this year, 9-year-old Julia Medina was detained by CBP for 32 hours despite her being a U.S. citizen.

Though she’s an American, Medina’s family lives in Tijuana, and they cross the border each morning to get to school. On a Monday morning, CBP detained her and her 14-year-old brother, Oscar, saying she didn’t look like the photo in her passport, according to NBC San Diego. CBP said the elementary student, who was questioned without her parents present, “provided inconsistent information during her inspection.” The agency reportedly had no explanation for why it took 32 hours to confirm her citizenship and release her, though in that time they accused her brother, who is also a U.S. citizen, of human smuggling and tried to have him sign a document saying his sister was his cousin. Medina was finally released after her mother pleaded with the Mexican consulate to contact U.S. immigration authorities.

In all of these cases, Galicia, Brown, and Medina had paperwork on them that proved they were U.S. citizens when they were apprehended. But clearly that wasn’t enough to prevent detention by an administration that views non-white people as suspicious. If a passport isn’t enough to prove citizenship, it’s not clear what people can do to avoid getting detained by ICE or CBP.

Another attempt to have zero immigrants even if they are in serious danger

Filed under: Bigotry, Children, Criminal, Family, Fascism, Harm, Hate, News, Political, Questions, Race — Scottie @ 07:03

So the idea behind this rule is that even if you are fleeing to save your child which makes you a target you will be denied.   It means if a parent is targeted the child doesn’t get asylum because they were only a secondary target.   It is another attempt to have zero brown people come into the country no matter how much danger of death or harm they are in.  It is a complete lie that the country is full, we have a declining birth rate.  It is a complete lie that immigrants cost the country and we can not afford them.  Fact is immigrants support local economies, pay taxes, do not use public benefits, and work needed jobs.   So if you don’t care about their lives, health , and safety do it for your own greed and needs.   Let them seek asylum, vet them, and make our country stronger with their added help.   Hugs

When Republicans say we have to help Americans first, how is taking away food from the vulnerable helping the vulnerable?

How does that help those who produce food? You will sell less food.

How does it help food stores? They will have fewer customers

Should Low-Income Military Families Get a Food Allowance? White House Says No

Filed under: Criminal, Economics, Family, Food, Greed, Harm, News, Political, Questions, Reason — Scottie @ 05:55

Why do we have service members at or under the poverty level?  Seriously we spend over half our countries budget on the military and contractors get rich while service members struggle.  I remember the sub standard housing in Georgia when I was stationed there.   In Germany we had good housing but in our own country we could only afford old broken down crap.  Today it is worse with much base housing dangerous to the people living in them.   This is not supporting the troops.  Next time some one uses that talking point let them know our lower military ranks are struggling to eat and have a roof over their heads.   Hugs

The provision — in the House’s version of the fiscal 2020 defense policy bill — would provide a monthly allowance for military families equal to 130% of the federal poverty guidelines minus the service member’s gross income (not counting any allowances) divided by 12.

The Trump administration has already weighed in, taking issue with the advocates’ characterization of the situation as well as a need for the bill. In a statement released July 9, the White House said it “strongly objected” to the provision because service members “receive appropriate compensation already.”

For an E-4 with several years in the military, a spouse and two children, the proposed benefit would be roughly $234 a month.

The amount is intended to be used for food, diapers, clothing, toiletries — any essential need.

“The basic needs allowance really is an allowance to do exactly what it says, help with basic needs, a plus-up to the base pay for service members who are at or below 130% of the federal poverty line. We are talking very low pay,” said Josh Protas, vice president for public policy at MAZON: A Jewish Response to Hunger.

Migrants sent back by US dumped in Mexico’s Monterrey

MONTERREY, Mexico (AP) — The bus carrying dozens of Central Americans from the Texas border arrived in this northern Mexican city late at night and pulled up next to the station. Men and women disembarked with children in their arms or staggering sleepily by their sides, looked around fearfully and wondered what to do.

They had thought they were being taken to a shelter where they could live, look for work and go to school. Instead they found themselves in a bustling metropolis of over 4 million, dropped off on a street across from sleazy nightclubs and cabarets with signs advertising for “dancers.”

The Associated Press witnessed several such busloads in recent days carrying at least 450 Hondurans, Guatemalans and Salvadorans from Nuevo Laredo, across from Laredo, Texas, to Monterrey, where they are left to fend for themselves with no support on housing, work or schooling for children, who appear to make up about half the group.

Mexico has received some 20,000 asylum seekers returned to await U.S. immigration court dates under the program colloquially known as “remain in Mexico.” But there had been no sign of such large-scale moving of people away from the border before now, after the program expanded to Nuevo Laredo in violence- and cartel-plagued Tamaulipas, a state where the U.S. State Department warns against all travel due to kidnappings and other crime.

“They have abandoned us here to get rid of us,” said Jazmin Desir, sitting on the floor of the bus terminal surrounded by her four sleeping children. The stylist and her husband, a mechanic, were waiting for relatives to send money for them to get back to Honduras, and they figured it would take two years to pay off the debt they took on to pay their coyote.

Again a Christian Pastor shows what Christianity is all about. Control and hate

TN Pastor Refuses to Host Funeral Since Dying Man’s Son is Gay

TN Pastor Refuses to Host Funeral Since Dying Man’s Son is Gay

“As long as I was going to take part in any way, he [Jessie’s father] could not have his service there,” said [Jessie] Goodman.

Goodman says the church’s pastor, and some of its members, don’t want him or his fiance [Brandon Smitty] to be involved in the service because they’re gay.

We called Lee’s Chapel Baptist Church’s Pastor Jay Scruggs to see if this was true.

Pastor Scruggs had no comment, but did say he would talk with us after Jessie’s father is in the grave.

That Christian compassion never gets old…

What’s he going to say after the father is dead? “No” in a louder voice?

One church member told Jessie he could have the funeral there as long as his partner didn’t attend… which seems vindictive more than anything. Even if his partner isn’t there, Jessie is still a gay man. And considering that a funeral is for the living, not the dead, to tell a member of the family (officially or not) that he’s banned from a funeral is just cruel more than anything.

The news hit Jessie’s father especially hard.

When Goodman broke the news to his father that he would only be able to honor one of his final wishes, he told the news station his dad was devastated.

“He did know that his funeral wouldn’t happen there, and he had a very hurt look on his face when we told him that,” said Goodman.

Leave it to religion to find a way to make a dying man suffer even more.

A Border Patrol Agent Reveals What It’s Really Like to Guard Migrant Children

This is the actions of a lawless fascist thugs masquerading as law enforcement. They committed an illegal act and their supervisors defended it.

Filed under: Bigotry, Children, Criminal, Family, Fascism, Harm, Hate, News, Political, Questions, Race — Scottie @ 07:14

At about 21 minutes you can see the ICE agents illegally break the drivers side window and open the door and drag the man out.    They did this infront of the couples small children who were crying and traumatized by seeing armed thugs break into their car and drag their father out, slam him to the ground and shout at him as they took him.  The agents were angry that they were not obeyed and made that clear to the man as they refused to let him say goodbye to one of his children.  The mans horrible crime that caused this, he was brought to this country at age 11 and has raised a family here.  Imagine of that was your family!  Remember ICE has deported hundreds of US citizens!  It can happen to you.  When complaints and the video was shown to the supervisors and upper management of this government agency the response was a basic “fuck you, we don’t care, we did what we wanted to do”.  The government response was to support the illegal actions of fascist thugs.   We have no rule of law in this country.  From the president on down the celebrate breaking laws to get what they want.   ICE has become the Gestapo / SS of the US.  We all could be next.   Hugs

Border Patrol Has Kept a Teenage U.S. Citizen Locked Up for Nearly a Month. Despite his family’s lawyer providing his U.S. birth certificate, law enforcement refuses to release him.

Filed under: Bigotry, Children, Criminal, Family, Fascism, Harm, Hate, News, Political, Questions, Race — Scottie @ 14:46

Despite his family’s lawyer providing his U.S. birth certificate, law enforcement refuses to release him.

Customs and Border Protection (CPB) stopped two brothers at a checkpoint in Texas on June 27. The younger one, Marlon Galicia, was born in Mexico and entered the U.S. illegally; the older one, 18-year-old Francisco Erwin Galicia, was born in Dallas. CBP took both brothers into custody.

According to The Dallas Morning News, while Marlon was deported to Mexico, Francisco has been in detention for nearly a month, despite being a U.S. citizen. He was held by CBP for three weeks, not allowed a phone call until last weekend, when he was transferred to Immigration and Customs Enforcement custody. His family’s attorney, Claudia Galan, told the paper that the agencies have so far been ignoring her efforts to get Galicia released, and his family now fears he’ll be deported to a country where he’s not a citizen:

In an interview with The Washington Post, Galan added, “When Border Patrol checked his documents, they just didn’t believe they were real. They kept telling him they were fake.”

On paper, Galicia seems to have done everything right, carrying multiple documents with him that proved he was a U.S. citizen. But that apparently wasn’t enough to keep him from landing in a detention center. CBP and ICE have detained many other citizens, though, and nearly deported several, including a Marine veteran born in Michigan and a Philadelphia man who had the same name as a Jamaican immigrant.

And the detention and threat of deportation against non-white U.S. citizens looks likely to get worse. The Trump administration has announced a new “expedited removal” policy that makes deportation faster and easier for immigration enforcement agents. It empowers the agency to stop any person, anywhere in the U.S., and for any reason, and demand they prove either they’re a citizen or have lived in the U.S. for at least two years. If they can’t do either, they’re deported without seeing a judge.

Children being held hostage by the CPB to be able to arrest undocumented parents

Damn it, are we not better than this.  How can any adult justify this?  Ron told me I am about to have an aneurysm over this crap.  But this is the country I served two military tours for and I am a survivor of childhood abuse and this holding kids hostage is as wrong as some one holding them to sexually traffic them.  How the hell are these kids to deal with the fact that if their parents do come for them they will be sent away?  Fuck me to tears I am so angry right now!  Hugs

Don Jr had so much privilege given to him, yet chose to be a unfunny, cruel dickhead like his dad.

Sounds about white.

Don’t forget that Dennis Hastert is a convicted child molester!

Homeland Security is the largest government agency. Republicans want Big Government.

Republicans want massive deficits and massive government spending when they are in the White House to use as weapons for social cuts.

All their small government rhetoric is bullshit.
