Scamvangelist: If You Lost Your Job in the Pandemic, “Don’t You Stop Tithing”

Filed under: Criminal, Economics, Greed, News, Prayers, Questions, Reason, Religion — Scottie @ 07:58

This is about the third one of these I have read this morning.   The scammers are terrified their millions they are fleecing from the gullible will dry up as people struggle to find food and shelter.     Hugs

But also, you really need to keep giving money to your favorite ministry. (Did you think unemployment meant deferring what you owe the church? C’mon now…)

Fear of this coronavirus is faith in its ability to hurt you or kill you. The fear of “What are we gonna do? I’m getting laid off at work!”

Hey! Your job’s not your source. If it is, you’re in trouble. Jesus is your source! Whatever you do right now, don’t you stop tithing! Don’t you stop sowing offerings.

“Well, they won’t let us go to church!”

Well, email it in, then! Text together. Something. But you get your tithe in that church if you have to go take it down there and drop it off… stick it under the door or something. You get that tithe in that church, you get that offering in that church, and then you go home and do what you’re supposed to do.

Remember: This is a guy who said he couldn’t fly in a regular plane because it’s a “long tube with a bunch of demons.” Now, more than ever, he must be thinking about his private jet.

And if that means bilking his suffering donors in a time of global crisis, who cares? All he has to do is invoke Jesus and there are people gullible enough to keep sending him cash.

Church Sets Attendance Goal of “AT LEAST 250 People” Despite Coronavirus Scare

Church Sets Attendance Goal of “AT LEAST 250 People” Despite Coronavirus Scare

Despite a warning from Governor Eric Holcomb not to have gatherings of more than 250 people, and despite all the warnings about the need to self-quarantine in order to protect the elderly, the New Life Christian Center in Indiana held a service Friday night to stick it to all those people who accept science.

They urged people — especially sick people — to ignore the “raw, unmitigated stupidity” coming out of the CDC and visit the church. The plan was to “lay hands on the sick, and the sick shall recover.”

Due to the recent outbreak of fear — and the resulting raw, unmitigated stupidity — regarding the perceived threat of the “corona virus,” etc., tomorrow night, Friday, March 13th, 2020, we WILL be having a church service here at New Life Christian Center in Austin, Indiana. Anyone who is sick, you are welcome to come to church. We will lay hands on the sick, and the sick shall recover.

It has become apparent that much of the Church, as a whole and irrespective of denomination, is ignorant and fearful about a great many things. Come to church and learn a better way to live — one based on God’s promises as written in Scripture. Just as a few examples:

Mark 16:18 says, ” … they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover.”

II Timothy 1:7 says, “For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.”

In direct eye-rolling at our Indiana Governor’s requests, we have a GOAL to have AT LEAST 250 people here at church tomorrow night ! Tell a friend ! Bring a friend ! Carpool if possible, so that we can park everyone !

. . . oh, & our bathrooms *are* stocked with toilet paper !

There is more at the link above.    Hugs

Here’s a Picture of Mike Pence’s Team Attempting to Pray Away Coronavirus

Here’s a Picture of Mike Pence’s Team Attempting to Pray Away Coronavirus

Elizabeth Johnston (a.k.a. the “Activist Mommy”) has spent the past day or so talking about her meeting — along with other anti-abortion zealots — with Vice President Mike Pence.

If this virus truly becomes a pandemic, we’re at the mercy of people delusional enough to think their pleas to God will fix the problem. The same God who presumably created the virus, at least in their minds, will somehow make sure it hurts only a handful of Americans… and a ton of Chinese people.

Pence already botched the response to an outbreak of HIV in Indiana. Now he’s going to hurt the entire country.

Florida, where Christian politicians make laws saying only their religion can be used for invocations at government meetings.

New Invocation Rules in Winter Garden (FL) Could Exclude Non-Christian Voices

New Invocation Rules in Winter Garden (FL) Could Exclude Non-Christian Voices

At the meeting, the commissioners approved a resolution to change the invocation practice… in a way that permits exclusion of non-Christian people.

There you go. Forget having different speakers. Just let the commissioners pray to their personal God if they choose to. (It’s hardly a coincidence that the board, as far as I can tell, is exclusively Christian. Only one said he prefers a moment of silence.) This is the same old policy they abandoned in 2015 in order to broaden their inclusivity. It didn’t work, since most invocations were still Christian, yet now they’re going back to rules that could theoretically ban all invocations from the perspective of Muslims, Jews, atheists, Hindus, and other non-Christians.
