The Metro reports:

Shocking footage has emerged of Donald Trump supporters running over two protesters who had taken to the streets calling for justice over the death of George Floyd.

The footage, which was shared on Twitter, appears to show three people driving through the protests in a blue Jeep with a US flag and a Trump ‘Keep America Great’ flag attached to the rear of the vehicle.

Several protesters are seen holding placards in the road, before the driver of the Jeep comes to a stop in traffic. He then accelerates and plows into a young woman, who appears to be struck front-on by the vehicle and is mowed to the ground.

The Fresno Bee reports:

The Visalia Police Department said it is investigating the incident but no arrests have been made. Video shows three people in the Jeep, which had an American flag, as well as a Trump “Keep America Great” flag, attached and on display. Visalia police declined to release any names of the suspects, citing an ongoing investigation.

But Visalia police public information officer Celeste Sanchez did add that none of the occupants in the Jeep are children of Visalia police officers, as inaccurately claimed on social media. The women who were hit by the Jeep suffered minor injuries, according to Visalia police.

Reporters Gassed, Hit With Rubber Bullets, Arrested

Police are targeting the reporters as a warn to them not to report police bad conduct.   The White House people keep saying this was a bad apple, yet the actions of the forces acting during the protests shows it is systemic in all the law enforcement groups.   Hugs

https://www.joemygod.com/2020/05/reporters-gassed-hit-with-rubber-bullets-arrested/

The Hollywood Reporter reports:

MSNBC’s Ali Velshi, CNN commentator Keith Boykin were among journalists recounting being hit by rubber bullets, attacked, and in some cases arrested while covering protests.

As tensions escalated across the United States during protests over the death of George Floyd, many journalists found themselves in the crosshairs of covering an unprecedented moment with some getting hit by rubber and pepper bullets.

MSNBC host Ali Velshi, who has been reporting live from Minneapolis, tweeted Saturday that he had been hit by rubber bullets “but I am fine,” he posted. “State police supported by National Guard fired unprovoked into an entirely peaceful rally.”

There are about a dozen really good tweets from reporters who were shot, some with video, all while displaying their press credentials.   One reporter who was arrest, Keith Boykin, describes how the police  held him for 6 hours, the first two in hot uncomfortable conditions.   He never was read his rights, and instead of a serious charge gave him a summons for blocking traffic, something he not only claims he did not do but couldn’t because the street was already blocked by police.  It is important to address police power now, before it is too late.   Remember the police are not the military, the police do not have a normally dangerous job, and they have forgotten what policing was really for.    Hugs

Escalating protests force Omar Jimenez’s crew to flee to safety

This was a peaceful protest.   The authorities asked for a peaceful protest.   They got it.  Then they reacted like this.   Are we a police state yet?   We all watched the treatment of protesters in Hong Kong and were angered at the way the government there harmed and threatened the protesters.   Well here we are, in the US, with mistreatment of peaceful protesters.    Hugs

Barr trying to shift the blame

Please understand what is happening.  The administration, the president, is trying to shift blame from their protected thugs who are trying to create trouble / start their desired race war to their political enemies.   This is real nasty shit.  Their people stir up the trouble, then they blame the people who are against them politically.   Left wing groups do not stand to gain from a race war.   Look at who gains from this, look at why the administration is using the top law enforcement agency in the country to lie about what is happening to shift blame.   Hugs

4 white Missouri cops sued for alleged brutality on 68-year-old black woman and son in a Sam’s Club

Four white police officers allegedly used excessive force on a 68-year-old black woman and her adult son after the son was wrongly accused of stealing a TV in a Missouri Sam’s Club, a new lawsuit claims.

Marvia Gray suffered “mental anguish” as well as injuries to her tailbone, back, shoulder, knees and arms when she was thrown to the ground and handcuffed March 23 inside the Des Peres store, the lawsuit filed Monday in St. Louis County alleges.

Her 43-year-old son, Derek, suffered a concussion, three shattered teeth and other injuries, the paperwork obtained by the Daily News states.

Marvia was especially traumatized during the incident because she feared for her son’s life following the fatal police shooting of Michael Brown in Ferguson, Missouri, in 2014, her lawyer Andrew M. Stroth told the Associated Press.

“Mrs. Gray thought her son was about to be another black man unjustifiably shot and killed by the police,” Stroth said in a phone interview. “You can see in the video that she is terrified with respect to what they’re doing to her son.”

Cellphone video shot in the store and obtained by the AP begins with Gray and her son already on the ground. Derek tries to sit up at one point, but two officers forcefully push him back down, according to the video.

“Get off me,” he is heard yelling. “I’m humiliated.”

Marvia screams throughout the videos, yelling at officers, “Please leave me alone!”

When they tried to load the massive TV in their 2018 Lexus SUV and realized it wouldn’t fit, they asked the store to hold it until Derek could retrieve it later.

A Des Peres Police officer in the store mistakenly thought he was stealing the TV when he returned later. The officer followed Derek to his SUV and voiced his suspicion before a store employee intervened and explained the TV was paid for, the lawsuit said.

Despite receiving this information, the officer still called the Des Peres Police Department and “falsely reported that he had ‘witnessed Gray steal a TV and place it in the parked vehicle,’” the lawsuit states.

When Derek reported the incident to his mom, they decided to return the TV due to the experience with the false allegations, the lawsuit states.

While the Grays were at the store seeking a refund, the four officers, including the one who made the emergency call, “violently and physically seized Marvia Gray and Derek Gray, throwing them to the floor, beating them, handcuffing them, then arresting them,” the paperwork states.

OK to recap a black man bought a TV for his mom, it wouldn’t fit in the vehicle, so he asked them to keep it until he came back with a bigger vehicle.   I have done that.   I did not get beaten and arrested, but I am white.   He goes back and the police officer now there seeing a black guy take a TV out with out paying decided he stole it.  Employees said no he paid for it, it is paid for earlier ( again I have done that).  Nope says the cop, I see a black guy with a big TV so I know he stole it.  The cop calls for reinforcements because he is a chicken shit or he wants his other racist buddies in on the beating, and they find the man and his mom deciding they want a refund because they do not like getting accused of theft.  Maybe because of what happened next.  They were violently grabbed and we see from the picture what happened.   The store cameras captured it.   This is why POC are protesting and burning a city down.   They are tired of this shit and I don’t blame them.  All because a racist cop thought a black man shouldn’t have a huge big screen TV!   It really pisses me off.    Hugs

RIGHT-WING GROUP SEEKS TO PURGE UP TO 800,000 VOTERS IN PENNSYLVANIA, A KEY BATTLEGROUND STATE

Filed under: Bigotry, Criminal, Fascism, Lower Incomes / Poor, News, Political, Questions, Race, Reason — Scottie @ 11:08

And again they try to suppress voting to steal an election.   No wonder they are always shouting that the elections are rigged and about fraud, they are doing it.   Republicans hate democracy, they do not want people to vote.  They are anti-American dream, anti-democracy.    They love a single party rule like China.    Hugs

Republicans have peddled the myth of rampant voter fraud in an effort to curtail voting rights and suppress votes to their advantage. They have upped the ante in recent weeks as a number of states battle over how to make voting accessible amid the coronavirus pandemic, which has postponed some elections. On May 21, Judicial Watch sued California following Democratic Gov. Gavin Newsom’s order to completely shift November elections to vote-by-mail; it would be the first state to do so as a result of the ongoing pandemic. The Republican National Committee, the National Republican Congressional Committee, and the California Republican Party filed suit against the order several days later. “Dirty voting rolls can mean dirty elections,” Judicial Watch President Tom Fitton said in an April 28 press release on the Pennsylvania suit.

There is no evidence to bear out that claim. While there have been no recent major incidents of voter fraud, there was a case of electoral fraud committed by Republicans in North Carolina. Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, R-Ky., bizarrely referenced that case when warning against potential voter fraud in other states. In that case, a political strategist working for a Republican congressional candidate was indicted on charges of orchestrating a scheme to collect and submit fraudulent absentee ballots in 2018 and 2016, including forging signatures and filling out incomplete ballots, and paying workers to collect them.

In response to increased legal activity surrounding claims of voter fraud, the Brennan Center for Justice released a report Wednesday debunking 10 myths related to the issue. The public policy group warns against using flawed lists of voter data to justify purges, citing cases in Virginia and Texas.
